Wigginton

Lol, yep I'm happy we lost to a bubble team in Hilton where we should lose once every 2 or 3 years. I'm also happy we have a MAC level coach who can recruit but can't scheme himself out of a wet paper bag.

You thrive on the anger. You are no where to be found when we win.

I just wonder why you are a fan. It makes zero sense. You must be pretty god damned stupid.

*******. THT only played 19. Lindell played 28. 25 of which he played horribly.
Lindell is also still trying to find his place after being hurt.. the only excuse you can have for THT is the up in competition is effecting him. I’ll stick with Lindell all day. They both play selfish at times but we already know Lindell is ready for this. And the excuse of keeping the starting line up the same because they beat on the no names in non con is played out now. Play the best guys enough nonsense

Wiggy is the only one that can consistently generate his own shot. We need the guy. As soon as one game where he carries the team, he should start and THT will have to be the odd man out.

I'm all over the place when we win like I was last week against Kansas. You are only around when we lose trying to tell everyone else how they should act. You are the worst poster on here, all you do is try tell people who you dont agree with they are wrong. I've seen alot of other people call you at also.

I suppose we just view it differently. I see a team that played well against a weak non-con and I think some things are being exposed. ISU does not currently have a low post presence. MJ isn't having a huge impact, Lard is hurt, Young is more of a rebounder/defender than scorer. I think THT is showing that he has a lot of growing to do. I think LW will be the stabilizing force.
When has Wigginton been anything but a volume, low effectiveness guy? Stabilizing? Take off the recruiting blinders. It’s more apt to say we have a team that was in somewhat of a groove now disrupted on both ends by inserting a 30% usage guy that isn’t shooting well and doesn’t play good defense.

He should get time, lots of it if he’s hot, but he’s not guaranteed 30+ minutes type. He’s not necessarily the (only) problem, but he’s not the solution.

LW should not the leader of this team. He obviously is working his way back into playing shape and we need his scoring. But late in the game...he has proven to be a liability on the court. He so desperately wants to be the guy...but he is not clutch under the 5:00 mark of games. He doesn't make others around him better. Not that he doesn't want to...he just can't seem to do it. Last year he was a volume scorer because he had to be. But turned it over way too much at the end of games. It's one of the reasons the NBA wanted him to come back and shore up being a more efficient all around player. This year the injury has set him back yes. But now that he's playing, he still does not stabilize the team late in games. Still turning it over...not great defensively and now hes struggling to make shots at all...let alone in big moments late in the games. Maybe he'll start shooting better as the season wears on but leadership is something inherently within you. Wigginton doesn't or hasn't shown that since he's arrived here. Yes, he's a very good athlete...yes, he may play in the NBA someday and be very good. But college teams need "a guy" that can be relied upon down the stretch or when things get tight. At this point, I think TH is more that guy in the future than Wigginton.

I’m just gonna say this.

If I’m cooking a pizza and it has to be out of the oven exactly at the 40 minute mark, I know I can rely on Wiggington and Babb to get that pizza out any time between the 1 and 39 minute mark. But when I need it out at the 40 minute mark, both of them are nowhere to be found.

Who cooks a pizza for 40m?

A groove against who? Mind you, they have had a cupcake schedule to start their season. Now THT and the big guys are struggling against big 12 defenses. Don't forget that level of competition changes.

THT in 4 conference games has 0,4,8,8 points and 2,5,2,2 assists - not exactly the guy you think he is, at least right now. If you don't allow your best player to be your leader and coach him up that way, who is? THT as a freshman is definitely not.

I realize my mistake. Tyrese, not THT. Would be interesting to see him at point because right now he is more of a spot up shooter.

He was the only guy who was getting anywhere off the dribble today. I thought he actually made some nice passes that set guys up but they couldnt knock them down, had a couple nice looks that did end up in points. From a PG standpoint, one of the better games he played but he struggled to score. He wasn't to blame for today.
He also gets continually beat off the dibble on defense just like he did on Barry Browns game winning layup. Guys like that don’t cut it in the NBA and it’s why he hasn’t seen more minutes this year.

After some time to think, I think you are right on. He’s an improving passer, a guy that can get and make tough shots, and still looks like he’s finding his explosiveness after his injury. Shayok is a very good player and scorer but Wigginton should be our guy down the stretch.

It seems that Prohm has been trying to let Wigginton play his way back into the starting lineup. But Wigginton is a player who "needs" to be needed. I hope Prohm starts him and tells him to play like a leader just like he did last year. Let the other pieces fill in around him this year.

It just seems they need more structure on offense as we have no true strength with what were doing. It shows in late game situations big time as well. Using the floor spacing 4 out with a screeener is amazing if you have shooters but we dont. We do have multiple players that could exploit mismatches but having that mismatch start out at the 3 point line doesnt work because you dont have to respect our shooting very much.

What has he done to earn this. He has played so bad. Prohm has given him every opportunity and he’s done nothing.

That may work, but I don't think last year means much. Being the guy on an extremely limited, depleted roster in meaningless games is completely different than needing to be an efficient player surrounded by talent and making a run at the tournament. The OSU game showed what LW can do, though he struggled mightily on the defensive end.
