I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

Fran isn't getting fired no matter where the Hawks finish this year because Barta was dumb enough to give him an extension last year that makes it nearly impossible to fire him now. Pretty sad they had to hide that extension for a few months too, usually something like that you want to announce right away. He did take over a crappy Lickliter roster but come on he is in year 9 and has an overall record of 163-123 and Big 10 record of 67-78 with 3 NIT appearances, a loss in the first 4 of the NCAA tourney and 2 losses in the round of 32 to show for the 4th longest tenured coach in the Big 10. Izzo, Painter, and Beilein are the other 3. Most other power 5 schools would have fired him by now for that kind of mediocrity let alone his temperament as he's had plenty of time to bring in his own guys and develop a culture there. I hope Fran stays around for awhile because as long as he is coach there it will always be entertaining to watch the yearly melt downs and underachieving when they actually have decent talent.

ISU walked into a hornets nest that night at the Morgue. They played a great game, hit big 3 after big 3, Moss played one of his two great games a year against us.

The thing is Iowa has some talent, I would take Cook right now as our post player, the Wesincamp (sp) looks like he is going to be very good. But their guard play is horrible, they can defend no one, and unless they are hitting the 3, none of them can beat you off the dribble.

And even Weiskamp is a defensive liability. He is a decent 3pt shooter - but if he misses from the corner, he is not fast enough to get back and help on D. At least twice in the game tonight, he missed a 3ptr and his man beat him back down court and either scored or dished to a teammate for a score. Of course, the same could be said about every Iowa player tonight.

I think Weiskamp has a very bright future, its a shame it will be a Iowa. He is just a freshman, he will be get better with experience.
ISU has had a better BB program for the past 10 years, when are we going to start getting the Iowa kid that is quality player to come to ISU.

Its hard to tell because they play at Iowa, but not sure Weiskamp or any Iowa player would see the floor if they played for ISU.

When they become better recruits than what commits to us now.
