Iowa Football Recruiting

Iowa making fun of our commits when they just gave out this 2019 TE offer...

Uh...LaPorta is rated (by 247 at least) much more highly than the Iowa State kid. I’d be willing to bet that if LaPorta commits to Iowa he will end up being a stud. When it comes to recruiting the TE position, I think I’ll give Iowa the benefit of the doubt.

The smarter grad students prefer Offerzzz over Starzzz.

Did that help you fall asleep?

Gotta make sure you prove a point on CF!

Yeah Iowa never misses on TE recruits. Lol I can't believe you're pretending you're excited about this one

Think you'll have to fend off Central Michigan for him? I mean he actually has an "offer" or offer.

If you watch his highlight video he actually looks pretty good. Good speed and athleticism, massive catch radius, appears to have good hands. Put 20 pounds on him, teach him how to block, and he could be another in a long line of under-recruited stud TEs.

Everyone (excluding Fran's recruits) look good in highlight videos. His offer list is bad. Could he turn out to be good? Sure but offers don't lie and the kids with better offers pan out more than the ones that don't. You're a homer so you'll never question any offer. Hell you probably think that UNI Basketball walk on you guys are going after is a good WR too

Of course everyone’s highlight video looks good in terms of the results of the plays shown, but that’s not what they are useful for. It’s all about seeing what types of skills the player has and how they might project to the next level.

Not alls. Iowa had one where the guy missed shots and dunks. It was quite comical.

So why does nobody else want him then?

Jake Knott! Josh Lenz! Carter Bykowski! Jeremiah George!

I mean, if you want to start going name for name, Iowa’s list is going to be at least twice as long. There’s not a school in the country that has done a better job of turning lightly recruited players into NFL caliber players.
