Little McCaffery's Status for Thursday

Who was the adult in the room?
here's the story on Pemsl.....this is never going away for him. Really doesn't matter how long he sits...he'll have the same issue. Basically when they reconstructed his knee I guess some of the hardware is situated in a way that it causes continual pain. Basically if the pain is at a tolerable level he can play....his choice. It's my understanding that it can't be fixed and there's no structural issue.....simply pain.

Crazy to think the pain was too much for two Big Ten games but all of a sudden it was fine for the Super Bowl...

Man that's a bad look on Connor and Pemsl
Jacobson starts to walk down the court. Moss bumps him. Jacobson glares at Moss, then realizes it wasn't an intentional bump so he starts to walk back down the court again. McCaffery then jumps in from of him and gives him a chest bump/shove, which Jacobson returns. Moss then also pushes Jacobson who again, starts to walk away to the other end of the court. Then Pemsl comes out of no where and shoves Jacobson again which leads to other players running into the "melee".

This is just where we agree to disagree. I don't see where he started anything. He was walking away. McAffrey jumped in front of him and shoved him. It wasn't physical until he decided to get involved.

Moss goes in to help Pemsl up and kind of runs into Jacobsen to do so. No big deal. As Jacobsen walks away he goes through moss a bit, not necessary but no big deal. McCaffrey freaks out, but I don't really think that's a big deal. If it had been getting really chippy already maybe you give him a T to try to set the tone and get it under control. If not, they're being separated and you play on. Once Pemsl comes flying in that was what put everything over the edge. Good job by Shayok and Cook grabbing their guys.

I think only Pemsl should've gotten T'd up, but I don't have a big issue with McCaffrey and Jacobsen getting Ts as well.

I still question the wisdom of continuing to play. Knee issues tend to turn into early onset arthritis that leads to people being barely able to walk at 45 yrs old. The amount of body damage athletes incur is way above normal levels, and they pay dearly for it when they age. And kids (yeah, he's 21, but I'm three times that so he's a kid!) have a bad habit of not viewing things long term. Dude's not going pro, and he's tearing up his body while not going pro.

Guess that's just my POV though.

THANK YOU. Everyone misses Moss unnecesarily bumping into Jacobson. That is what made Jacobson go back and say something.

Everyone also misses the beginning of that play at the end. Shayok was initially walking behind Little Mac and heading towards the bench, when Mac just throws out an elbow for no reason. Shayok then come back to the play and tries to poke the ball. Jacobson then joins in after the McCaffery shove.

Fran is a hothead, I don't think he's a piece of **** though. I reserve that for coaches like Pitino, Pearl, Art Briles, etc...

I disagree. The way he treats reporters at press conferences and the fact that he never apologizes for anything absolutely makes him a piece of ****.

It was his choice. He wanted to play....watched an interview on HR and he was asked about it.

Which is great, but at some point as his coach don't you have an obligation to step in? I'm sure Wiggy and Solo wanted to play last night as well. But at some point one is a 20 year old and the other is a grown adult tasked with making decisions about the best interests of the kids they are coaching. If his knee needs surgery he shouldn't be out there, and the argument for a medical hardship waiver cant be helped by selectively playing.

Just to satisfy idle curiousity, can one of you Hawk fans tell me who two people are in this video? Specifically, the shorter, bald, black asst coach who made the comments to Prohm that set him off, and the older white guy in a grey suit, yellow tie that Prohm was walking next to after the game...and their roles in the program? TIA.

Edit - forgot to link video. :D
