Longhorn Network Access

I'm located in Ames with a 50014 zip code. When I signed up for the free trial I did it with their most expensive package available. Here's a list of networks that are affiliated with the LHN: http://www.espn.com/longhornnetwork/afflist
As with all things concerning LHN access, this link is incredibly misleading. Access is dictated by geography--for example, the link says Charter Spectrum has the LHN....but that is only in the Big 12 footprint. Its not available here in TN. Looks like I'll have to resort to my Eastern European contacts to watch the game again this year--thanks Big 12.

Does anyone know if Buffalo Wild Wings would have the longhorn network? I am going to be in Portsmoutn RI during the game. I doubt many of the local bars would have it, so I hope a national chain like BWW will. However, I am unable to find any information if they have it or now.

For what it's worth, I have Direct TV Extra and was able to obtain the Sports Pak for 13.99 per month with a 5.00 discount for 3 months. I was told I could cancel at anytime. I'm watching LHN as I type.

Just two weeks ago another Direct tv rep told me I had to upgrade to the Premier package. She was obviously wrong.

I'd recommend a call to customer service and see what they can provide in your specific area based on your current Direct tv package.

I thought I'd have to head for a bar. Glad I called !!!

I'm going to do this tonight. I assume I should be able to then logon to the WatchESPN app and watch on a device? I'll be at a wedding reception in Lawrence so that will be my only option.

Just noticed on the website that it does state you have to have Premiere package or above to be able to get it outside of Texas. Guess it will depend on who answers the call.

Not sure about watch ESPN.

The person I spoke with is in The Philippines. She was good. I'd try and call during the day when the Direct tv "A" team is working. After normal business hours and weekends you'll often get the "B" and "C" teams and you get incorrect info. I've learned from experience.

Hope this helps.

Calling it now. The reason this game is on Longhorn Network is so less people can watch the refs **** over ISU.

I signed up for a free trial of DirectTVNow and just went with the all channel package, am watching Longhorn Network now going to try to use espn's website, but at least on watchESPN on my phone it's working.

Update: Yuuup, that works too. Looks like if you just spring for the full package of directTVNow you'll get LHN with it.

I'm using my parent's Dish network login. Watch ESPN did not work but I can at least get the SD version on DishAnywhere. Hopefully the HD version will work for the game.
I use my parents Dish login for Watch ESPN and it works great. Watched a minute of the lhn on it today to double check.
