If I could pick any seat in JTS, give me front row seats in the upper deck on the 50 yard line. Looking down on the action is a better view for me than sitting too low.
My brother and I usually try to get tickets between the 35s and 15-20 rows up. Seems to be pretty good sightlines.

We struggle with the angle (right now we're at the top of sec 24) and seeing what's happening at the far end of the field, so I wish we were back in the 3rd row, upper deck 40 yd line seats we used to have.
However, at the basketball games, we actually prefer being in the upper deck because it's hard to follow all the action when you're "up close & personal". Basketball moves so much faster, it's easier to follow from above.

Personally think the best seats in JTS are 50yl about 25-35 rows up. 50 yl in the club on the east side would probably be the best seat, imo.
Being up some and towards the middle of the field is always the answer. Gives you optimal viewing angles to see action as it develops live.
That's not to say being front-row-ish is bad, 'cuz it's not -- it's still really fun to be that close and personal to the action. It's just not the best viewing angle available.

I would take row 1 or row 2 also, but these seats are fantastic and unless you put me in a suite, I would never move from these seats to go to the lower section nor the Sukup End Zone. I've sat in all of those seats for various games and prefer my actual seats.
We are on the 48 yard line 12 rows up on the upper deck and I wouldn’t change them for anything. I can see everything and watch things unfold that you can’t see at lower levels.
If you want to see the action the best? End zone seats up 10 rows offer the best view until the action moves too far away from you. If you want to get a overall view of the game without having to move, then the 50 yard line higher up offers better ability to see.

About 1976 I sat in what was called the "Governors Seat" in the club section on the east side. The mother of a friend of mine was president of the Board of Regents, that is how we got the tickets as high school age kids. I was told that it was the only seat in the stadium that was exactly on the 50 yard line, at that time. That was kind of cool. We were like fish out of water in the club section.
The best seats AT a football game (major college or pro) are in the first row lower-level. Mascots, cheerleaders, players warming up, etc. Always something to watch, my kid and I were dancing on the jumbotron at JTS earlier this year. The entertainment value of the front row can't be beat. You can't really see the game at all though, but that's not why I drive 4 hours to watch 1 game a year in person.
The best seats to WATCH a football game are at home on your couch. Replays, super slow-mo, the best angles, etc. If I actually care about watching a game. I stay home.

I agree, and it's a no brainer, not even close.
Not only is it the best viewing spot, but there's nobody sitting in front of you and there's more leg room too.
Personally, I don't care much for seats in the lower bowl at JTS. It's too low for my liking to get the best view.... especially anything in the first 15-20 rows of the lower bowl.
Outside of the climb to get to your seats, I don't mind most seats in the upper deck near the middle of the field at JTS. I'm an X's and O's type football watcher, and looking down on the field you can see things so much better IMO.
I sit in the 11th row lower bowl aisle seats around the 20 yard line. Sure, the angle sucks when the action is at the other side of the field, but I had a front row seat to Holgorsen melting down all game.

I know I'll get some crap for this, because: Baylor. But I kind of like what they did with their student section in their new stadium. Have them all down close to the field and wrap around half of the stadium. Students are generally there more for the party and being loud than intensely watching the game anyway. Put them close to the action in not so great seats to be loud and intimidating.
I got a chance to sit in the press box last year. That was cool as hell.
