I apologize if this has already a thread on here, if so can someone point me to the thread?

A group of us are taking a bus to Lawrence Nov. 3rd to watch Brock Purdy bend over the Jayhawks.
Does anyone have any advise on where to tailgate? Is there a lot where other Cyclone fans are meeting up?

Thanks in advance!

If I remember correctly last time I went to a KU game most ISU fans were in lot 72 near Allen Field House. There is a free shuttle that will take you to the stadium or you can walk if you so desire. The area around the stadium is pretty hilly.

Is lot 72 bus friendly? Also drinking is only allowed 3 hours prior to kickoff? Jeez no wonder no one goes to their games

I really can't say. I know when CF had a bus trip down to Lawrence (3 buses) they all parked in lot 90.
I do remember a couple of mobile homes in lot 72 about 4 years ago.

According to the KU website
Discuss event and parking needs with Dave Moore, the Assistant Director of Field Operations. Inquiries can also be sent to [email protected].

I'm thinkin' about making the trip over from KCMO. Will probably depend on what the weather is doing, though.

I might drive down from Omaha, it all depends on work and what time the game kicks off I guess. I have to be back in Omaha by 1pm Sunday. That isn't a problem if I stay the night and just motivate myself to start driving in the morning.

In a couple of weeks KU will be selling football tickets for about $5. They have plenty of open seats and that isn't considering the resale market

The most Ames like tailgating available for the public is at the Triangle house just up the hill to the west of the stadium. This will probably have about 90% Clone fans and you can set up a grill and use the house bathrooms. It's usually around $20.

I would suggest hitting either the bars around campus or the rooftop bar at the Oread hotel. I even valet at the Oread and walk the block to the game.

There are also tons of people who charge to let you park in their yards right next to the stadium.

Don't buy expensive tickets, you can sit wherever you want. The stadium is a true ********.

The stadium is easily the worst college football stadium I've ever been in. We tailgated my AFH & it was full of ISU fans, but not too many port-a-potties. The KU tailgate scene sucks but luckily we travel well.

Buy cheap tickets from the secondary market & then you should easily be able to move to the ISU side if you aren't already there.

Also I don't remember a drinking only allowed 3 hours before the game rule, but it was an 11am kick & I don't think they really cared that we were there at 7am or so
