At the NBA game tonight i looked up and noticed that the ceiling has been painted and the old light fixtures have been removed.

The water stains have always been something I've thought were an eye sore but probably not anywhere close to the top of the list of needs.

Looks much better now. Good job outta the Athletics Department.

Also noticed the sidewalk addition on the east side of the lots to the street. I'll appreciate not having to listen to the crabby parking attendant yelling at everyone to get into the unlevel, snow covered, or wet grass so the high roller traffic can get past after mbb games.

I know those are pretty small things, but I appreciate them being done.

The new volleyball surface has looked pretty solid too.

Hopefully my next couple those 'would be nice' items to see done can get done in the next several years
1)Repave/redesign the rest the lots for both flatter surface and better pedestrian flow.
2)Build out the old Hilton smoking patios into concession areas to free up the outer concourse for foot traffic.

All the major stuff i used to think ISU athletics was missing is done, it's cool to see this minor eyesore and convenience stuff being addressed without thinking we should be putting it toward a major need instead.

I always said more TVs in the concourse with a closed circuit feed would be a welcomed upgrade. In the bathrooms too. I have seen this at other arenas.
Some arenas are anti TVs in the concourse to keep people from lingering and clogging up foot traffic.

Great post- arena looks better. Agreed on the smoking decks for space as well. While not necessary, I would love to see LED ribbon board tables on the baseline and where TV teams sit as opposed to the 20 year old lighted ad boards

I believe outer concourse expansion and another expansion to johnny’s are in the planning stages now and hope to be constructed next year.

To which I generally say, "I'm walkin' here!"

Those people can wait.

Any exterior work? Stepcase concrete cracking, corrosion of handrail support bases and rust stains still on the steps, especially the south side?

Recently you've noticed that? They did some work there a couple years ago. Fixed some of that up.

Thanks for the update. My last three games at Hilton were at night (don't use night vision) and often I don't use that entrance.
