All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

I have no idea.

I'm actually not concerned about suspension, just calling out CyTwins' hypocrisy on the situation. I'm fine with ISU not honoring the suspensions and letting them play. Just found it amusing that everything CyTwins piled on KF and Iowa for blew up in his face as usual.

Im going to update this based on yesterday’s game. I don’t think you could legitimately pick either QB as the better starter right now. Montgomery is still the starting RB, but I truly think Iowa has the better three deep. I don’t know that ISU has a starter in the offensive line but certainly has a couple in he rotation for the defensive line. Lima is a great great player. I wish Iowa had your middle linebacker, but Iowa’s linebacker unit played very well. Secondary have no idea. I thought both played well. Punter goes to Iowa, and I think that’s simply amazing after last year. Have a great season.

We don't know about who has the better three deep at RB, but I'd still take ISU's. Put ISU's RB's behind Iowa's OL and then you can compare more accurately.

Rose was the best LB I saw on the field yesterday, and Spears was possibly 2nd best. Don't really know about CB's, but I love ISU's.

Biggest difference now though is I'm not sure there's an ISU OL that would start over anyone on Iowa's.

On the DL, Lima is unquestionably the starter on the interior, and it's not even very close. Iowa probably has the rest of the DL starters though. Their ends are VERY good.

Rose played a heckuva game at MLB in his first start, but I was equally impressed with Djimon Colbert for Iowa.

I’m not an X’s and O’s kind of guy on this but I’m not sure how much three linebacker looks iowa played yesterday. I wish Rose was in the Iowa roster, he looked really really good, especially for a freshman. The Iowa linebackers looked pretty good as well though. The Iowa safeties played well and the cornerbacks played well, especially after that first drive. The ISU cornerbacks were good as well.

After the first couple games, I think I would have to go with:

QB- Stanley
RB- Montgomery
WR- Butler
WR- Jones
TE- Fant
OL- Jackson
OL- Banwart
OL- Render
OL- Knipfel
OL- Wirfs
TE- Hockenson

DL- A. Nelson
DL- Lima
DL- M. Nelson/Uwzurike
DL- Epenesa/Hesse
LB- Spears
LB- Harvey
LB- Hockaday
CB- Peavy
CB- Payne
S- Hooker
S- Gervase

K- Recinos
P- Rastetter

- Rotation at DL would be tough. I have both M. Nelson and Hesse listed as nominal starters, but both would share snaps pretty evenly with Uwzurike and Epenesa.

- Still too early to say who would fill the 3rd LB spot. I have Hockaday, but Niemann, Welch, Rose, and Colbert have all played well for stretches.

I think this would be a pretty damn good team- would probably be a borderline Top Ten team and would challenge for a conference championship in either conference (though probably wouldn’t win it in either).

I would argue that all 5 O-line spots would be Iowa's. Also Mike Rose might just be the best linebacker on either squad, and finally a case for Eisworth at safety can definitely be made.

Other than that I'd say spot on.

The defensive line would be perhaps the best in the nation. DEEEEEEEEEEEP.

The two best QBs in the state of Iowa reside in Ames and I don't think it's even really close at this point

What's funny about that @dexterhawk and @benjimill? You'll argue Kempt I'm sure but Stanley's QB rating is quite a bit worse than Noland's this season while Noland hasn't faced an opponent outside of the top 5 and Stanley went MAC, Iowa State* and then FCS
