I agree with that. It's a tough situation for an AD to be in. Also, uncharted waters for 99% of of AD's out there. Have to explore all options in that situation.

Whatever man. You are the least intellectually honest poster I have ever come across. If Iowa missed a game and reached out to Drake and asked the NCAA for waivers you would troll the hell out of that for years year and years.
No I wouldn't. I don't see a difference between Southern, Hampton, Presbyterian, etc compared to Drake
Well you would be the only person who doesn't understand the difference. Heck even Pollard understands it, and realized he would need special waivers from the NCAA to play that level of school.
I understand the difference between the programs I just don't see the difference in terms of the quality of the opponents
This is like a 4A Iowa High School football team having its opener rained out and trying to schedule a Class A team at the end of the season in order to win enough games to make the playoffs.
I think the Iowa loss is probably going to keep us out of the playoffs.

Then how come he didn't reach out to them before Drake? I'm guessing he doesn't want to pay what those schools will demand in return.
He reached out to Southern and Presbyterian right away and one of them said no, the other said maybe. They didn't say who declined but I'm not sure trying to get as many options as possible is a bad idea. Anyone who knows anything about the situation knows whoever we schedule, if we do, is going to be beyond awful because of the FCS 11 game schedule rule
Like I said, I'm all about him trying to find a "suitable" team to replace SDSU. But reaching out to Drake was something that he should have never tried and never told anyway he did.
I guess I don't understand how Southern, Presbyterian, Hampton, etc are "suitable" opponents while Drake isn't considering the three teams listed were all ranked right around or worse than Drake last year
