Biggest disadvantage in the CyHawk Series since 1980

I’d say those folks would rather beat Nebraska. Personally, I haven’t been able to generate any hate for Nebraska, just disdain.

So he really was just being honest and playing to the crowd when he said the ISU win was better than Ohio State

I am just here to add to the thread count because I took the over on 750.

Not really worried about hitting the over because CyTwins will approach that total by himself/herself. But, there is real $$ on the line here so I need to step it up!

Since they used to be in our conference. There is probably a percentage of the contingency that thinks they are better than what they are (still in their mid 90s level) and will run their mouth about it non stop. Probably also downgrade Iowa although you guys have been somewhat similar level wise since they entered the big ten. They are yapping about this inflated sense of superiority pretty much nonstop. Won't shut up and it gets old, is that basically the way they are?

He didn't say that the ISU win was better than Ohio State. You don't know what was actually said. Also the article was from a Husker football OWH writer. He shaped it in a way that would attract his audience. You are terrible at perspective... and naive (according to CMC)

It's definitely a rivalry, and every game is a big deal. Which Iowa fans say differently?

Plenty. You can probably go on any random FB/tweeter page of Hawk fans and they'll be talking about how ISU always plays their best game this week, Iowa doesn't, etc.

The 15 years in a row thing really implanted the idea that it takes some sort of otherworldly effort in order for ISU to even have a chance, when it's basically just been that ISU has good players too.

back to the game, If I may. Rivals and PFF just struck a deal and Rivals.com will now have access to all the data from PFF.

Kallenberger and Banwart graded out as the best OL last week.

Hooker, Niemann, Hesse and A. Nelson had the best defensive grades.

Jones, Linderbaum and Merriweather had the worst defensive grades.

How did Stanley grade out?

"Ferentz said the two highlights of Iowa’s season last year were the wins over Iowa State and Nebraska."
That's not a direct quote from KF. It's fine, because you're naive (per CMC), but you don't know how these things work. Here is what was written (not what was said word for word):

Ferentz said the two highlights of Iowa’s season last year were the wins over Iowa State and Nebraska. He later mentioned the 55-24 win over a ranked Ohio State at home, but when Ferentz mentioned the Nebraska win again, the crowd of about 200 interrupted him in applause.

Again, the writer shaped this for his audience. He didn't even mention what KF said on Ohio State.

Here's what KF said in his year end presser. Didn't even mention Iowa State:

I think in a lot of ways the Pinstripe game was really representative of our season. We played really tough smart physical football in that second half, but we had some ups and downs during the course of the ballgame as you know. And you think about the success we had against Ohio State, certainly Nebraska, that included the Penn State game, too, it was a heck of a football game and there were other times where we didn't play as clean, didn't play as smart as we needed to and didn't play as well.

That is just crazy

No...I really shouldn’t divulge this but...me and KF are tight. Anyway, I told him that I post on Cyclone Fanatic and he was like “wtf” and I was like “ I just can’t help myself, sorry”.

Anyway, I explained that there was this totally obsessed dude named Cytwins. I explained that the guy studies everything Iowa and that he followed every word KF uttered. He said “No way”....

To prove it I asked him to do me a solid and mention how beating ISU was better than beating OSU. He said, and I quote “We’re friends Dex but there is no way in hell I’m saying that...that’s batshit crazy talk”. I said “I know, I know....can you at least say it was a highlight? I just want to see how many times cytwins uses that quote. I have a $1000 bet with a dude named 1976 that he uses it 20 times....easy money cuz 1976 ain’t too bright”. Kirk says “sure thing Dex”

Anyway, thanks @CyTwins. Thanks @1976.

Very accurate assessment IMO

IMO a lot of the "hate" for Nebraska from Iowa fans just feels so forced. Nebby's slide started before they even joined the conference, so in reality Iowa fans haven't even had a sniff of the delusion that spews from those mouth breathers.

As I've said before the "Nebraska rivalry" is phony. Made up Heroes trophy and Kinnick hasn't sold out in Nebraska's 3 B1G appearances there.
Maybe if Frost gets them turned around? I don't know. If Brian is the next coach, say 3 years from now, and if Nebraska is on pace to win 10 games, then I can see a lot more Bugeater hate. I say that because I think Brian will be more vocal about it than Kirk.
