All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

Yea Im sure your dumbass gum chomping coach would have suspended them for Iowa State.

We don’t know. It will be interesting to see if he’ll be asked this during the press conference Tuesday. He won’t say, but it would be interesting to know his opinion. My feeling is that Iowa would have made the same decision as was made by ISU, and Cyclone fans would be up in arms about Iowa’s failure to discipline their athletes and how it is an out of control program.

Apples to oranges, so there’s that. If you’d have brought up supporting an admitting sex offender and allowing him back on the basketball team you’d have been closer. However, I’ll wager the majority of Iowa fans did not support that decision.

Do you think Iowa played a player that did not have clearance from the doctor to play?
Iowa State has never had an admitting sex offender on its team.

Point misses you. Pierce didn’t really serve a suspension. He took a redshirt year. Since ISU has the opportunity to reschedule that game, the suspended players have the opportunity to play in just as many official games as the players who didn’t screw up.

Lol. Twins is getting owned.

Haha, he's Nathan Thurm... "I'm not being defensive, you're being defensive."

Yeah he was off on some throws, made a few bad reads. Not a great day. Still, I'll take a 33-7 win against a solid MAC team.

So you're cool with MC and JP negating suspensions just to make sure those guys are on the field vs. Iowa? Pretty funny, given your schtick.

Stanley has bad feet. Doesn't set very well.

And wouldn't negating have to take place prior?

It's an odd scenario. Nothing I've read from CMC on it, imo he needs to clarify. He could still hold them out and if they still got practice reps last week, he should. If they were out of practice and still have to work their way back in, that's fine. I don't think any of them are that impactful but that's besides the point.

Either way Hokdom will have a field day with it relentlessly and keep it in the back in case they don't take advantage of playing a game.

Wasn't Good-Jones one of them? He's your best OL.

Pollard says the suspensions have been served. FWIW, I don’t think the game will be made up. Even if the Cyclones only win five games, the NCAA may come up with some kind of waiver or benefit of the doubt for the teams whose games were cancelled. My hot take nothing else.

They can't reschedule vs. SDSU. Different bye weeks. They were suspended 1 game. Now aren't sitting 1 game. I have a feeling if you guys were playing UNI this week, they would.

Did I see somewhere that Iowa let a kid play in their bowl game but suspended him for yesterday?

Aren't Iowa fans supposed to beunknowing of ISU's schedule?

As far as Stanley goes, he did not look good. However, he has a history of bouncing back from subpar opening games and having a field day the next week against an instate rival. Last year he had three touchdowns vs Wyoming, but multiple fumbles and only 8 completions. He did pretty well the next week.

I think you’re confusing the discussion over Brandon Snyder, who was injured for the bowl game, but was suspended anyway for a game he couldn’t have played in. He left the team.

Who would that be? We suspended Snyder for the bowl game even though he was medically unable to play in that game, and I called that as a BS move by us.

The Oline won't be that much better because of one player. The unit as a whole will need a few games.

The matchup of the game imo. Iowa’s defensive line is good and deep. The NIU tackle was a preseason all American on some lists and MAC offensive lineman of the year. They returned all their starters. Remember that Iowa was missing two tackles who will be in the two deep Saturday. A matchup I look forward to watching.

This.

If hoknation is good at one thing, beside belly rubbing and vodka shots, it is rationalizing the superiority of their programs. We can't hope to compete with them there. They have decades of experience trying to convince people they are relevant outside of East Central Iowa. That often requires running down programs that they envy.
