According to all knowing @benjimill the B12 defenses are junk, because of a lot of offensive points. But B1G defenses are good because not a lot of points, even though their offenses are good!

The stat I referenced is adjusted for the strength of the opponent’s offense.
The B1G offenses rank behind the a non P5 conference. I don't know why defense is the end all be all in determining who's better.

Try to keep up JP- the discussion is not regarding which conference is better, but which QB (between Stanley and Kempt) faced tougher competition. That is why defenses matter in this discussion and offenses don’t.
