Ferentz's Emphasis on the ISU Game

Maybe “unquestioned” is a bridge too far, but the Big Ten is overwhelmingly considered the best conference this season. The only other conference that has an argument is the SEC, but their upper-middle of the pack teams are always overrated in the preseason.

Jesus you are ******* stupid

I agree. He doesn't get it!

Good one.

Explain to me how I'm incorrect on this one. I'll wait.

Twins says a recruit is a big get. You and others disagree. Twins says that Auburn was after him. You say there's no proof. Then Twins posts a quote from the coaching staff about how high they are on him. You take that as Twins trying to prove Auburn was after him, rather than the much more obvious line of thinking that he was a big get.

I literally can't dumb it down any further past that.

I think his point is....pre-season teams can be projected to be poor but surprise.

See 2017 ISU. Pre-season ISU wasn't projected as a tough opponent and wouldn't do much for your pre-season SOS projection. Ended up not being the case....

And teams projected to be good can be poor

Don't forget I posted an article where it was stated Auburn went all the way up to Wisconsin to see him and Halsted confirmed on the VIP boards Auburn offered him

I'll break it down how you are wrong sentence by sentence.

Twins says a recruit is a big get.
McDonald chose ISU over Auburn and Baylor

You and others disagree. Show me where I said he wasn't a big get. I never once said that.

You say there's no proof. I said there is no proof he had an Auburn offer.

Then Twins posts a quote from the coaching staff about how high they are on him.

How so? I told you Auburn wanted him, you mocked that and now they're saying this:

Side note: I was told true freshman defensive end Will McDonald is the best player this staff has ever recruited to Ames

You take that as Twins trying to prove Auburn was after him, rather than the much more obvious line of thinking that he was a big get. That is LITERALLY what he was doing. How can that be disputed? Do you need me to quote the quote above again? McDonald is a good get for you guys.

I literally can't dumb it down any further past that. Please do, because you have zero ground to stand on.

It would take a minor miracle for Iowa's schedule to end up being anything but favorable. I don't think I'm out of line to say it will be
Here's what I would expect if I was an Iowa fan:

Northern IL win
ISU split (probably 60% sure on a W)
UNI win
Wisconsin loss (20-30% chance of a W)
Minnesota split
Indiana win
Maryland win
PSU loss (very small chance of a W)
Purdue split
NW split (probably 60% sure on a W)
IL win
N win

I don't think the 2 losses are unreasonable. I don't think splitting ISU, MN, Purdue, and NW is unreasonable.

You and others disagree. Show me where I said he wasn't a big get. I never once said that. This was my understanding, otherwise, what is the argument?

You say there's no proof. I said there is no proof he had an Auburn offer. Twins posted a link with proof. I apologize, reading comprehension is required for you to understand it.

That is pretty good actually. About what I would have too.

Could you imagine having a schedule like that? Damn that would be nice

You say there's no proof. I said there is no proof he had an Auburn offer. Twins posted a link with proof. I apologize, reading comprehension is required for you to understand it. The link did not list an Auburn offer. I'd love for you to show me where it did.

Saying Will McDonald is the best player this staff has ever recruited to Ames provides ZERO proof that he had an offer from Auburn. How do you not get that? It's mind bottling.

If I had to guess, 2 of those opponents will be ranked (and ranked well) at the end of the year. I could see NW sniffing a 20-30 spot along with Iowa State.
I think OU (could be a playoff team), OSU, WV, and TCU are all top 20. I think K-State and Texas could be in that 20-30, and to be honest so should Iowa. So I think ISU could face almost twice as many ranked teams.
