Ferentz said WHAT about Iowa State?

Pedal to the metal. Guess Stanzi hand must be okay, because Jake , if he plays, cannot hit the broad side of the barn.

They did outscore Maine and FIU 88-3...thats at least 10 points added to the spread. Those are both fine and upstanding national powerhouses.

I hope Stanzi is overconfident. A nice big hit from Kurtis Taylor would be nice.

I heard EIU fans rushed the field after the Maine game. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

Quotes from the link:
By Bob Brooks:
“He’s making progress,â€￾ Brooksie recalled when Ferentz is asked about a player. â€￾I don’t know whether that’s academic progress or progress.

Could he be asking this about players in the prison rehab program?

Brooksie talked about the Iowa-Iowa State series restarting in 1977. By restarting the series after 44 years, â€￾Iowa became more of a Hawkeye state,â€￾ he said.

Times are a changin', Bob. Like the quarter for a season ticket, times are a changin'.

Saw Jon Miller picked ISU on 'State of the Nations' last night - but I only saw the list of picks and did not watch the show or hear his comments/reasonings. Anyone want to share? (Possible new thread?)

I don't think we should be the favorites in this game since it is in iowa city, but have we ever been predicted to win in the past 10 years?

The "expert" pick this morning on the radio had Iowa winning 38-13.

His stone cold lock last week on Cotlar and Co was Kent State not only covering the spread but beating us easily....

Wonder how that one is working out for his reputation??? The guy is a complete tool.

This shocks me if it is true...anyone have info?

That expert knows what he's talking about!

*fyi, I'm going to be a little "saltier" today than normal...please no negative rep, it is the day before the game*

Mark it down. My two locks of the week.

Lock one: Iowa won't sniff 30 points. It's still a bad offense and I would be shocked if they scored over 30 in more than one game the rest of the year

Lock two: Iowa will turn it over 3 times or more. 1 or 2 fumbles and/or 1 or 2 picks.

Haha I hear ya. I too am a little saltier!! And thankfully there is no more negative rep

Oh my goodness, I feel so vindicated as a fan that Kirk Ferentz feels the point spread is too high.

/sarcasm

This is Ferentz covering his *** when ISU gets the outright win.

He picked Iowa State to cover, but Iowa to win. Same with Deace.

Agreed!:biglaugh:

Although even if it wasn't, any idiot knows that if you bet ISU on the spread over the last several years (decades, maybe?) you would make a lot more money than you lost.

Anyone have a record of point spreads for this game over the last ten years or so? It would be interesting to see actual numbers on this.

Sounds reasonable to me...LOL...Back in the olde days good olde iowa u was favored by a couple of touchdowns and little Earle Bruce went over and shook their cage...Final Score Boys...ISU 31...the crybaby squawks Zero Zip Nada!!!

I don't think they did. I didn't see the FIU game, but I did watch the Maine and after the game they showed the stadium from the top with the teams meeting in the middle of the field and as far as I could tell there weren't students on the field.

Last night on State of the Nations, I believe Deace said that Iowa State has covered in 10 of the last 12.
