All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

You said "quality" depth. Now it is just depth.

I expect ISU to have a lot of quality depth on the OL and DL next year (unless Lima goes pro then who knows). We can agree to disagree.

Both Iowa and ISU will struggle with quality depth on the OL this year for different reasons and Iowa will struggle with quality depth at the DT while ISU should have strong quality depth on the entire DL

One guy impacting the DL that much means there isnt much depth.

Losing an elite player makes a big difference. I bet you would feel a lot different about your OL depth if you had Daniels back this year and rightfully so

But a line with depth should be able to absorb it. Having one elite player in a position group doesnt mean you have good or great depth.

You wouldn't feel different about your depth if Daniels was back?

He would make Iowa's OL better, no doubt.

What if Lima goes down to injury this season? Having one guy go down and making a huge difference is the definition of not having good or great depth.

Losing a starter to injury is a lot different than not having them there in the first place. Injuries happen and they have a good guy behind him, now if he's gone then the good guy is behind him at risk for an injury and it's one less person there. Not that complicated and you really don't have to argue everything. You said it yourself you would feel better about Iowa's depth if Daniels was still here and he could have come back and been at risk for an injury too

Do you know what "quality" depth means? Serious question.

Try and be a little objective if you dont want people to argue against your point.

You cant say ISU has good or great depth and then say if Lima goes down or wasnt there then "who knows at that point".

Losing an elite player without injury effects depth IMO. Agree to disagree

FYI, Phil Steele has Iowa's DL unit ranked as the 20th best in the country, 12 spots ahead of ISU, so it appears there is plenty of talent and quality depth there.
