Iowa Football Recruiting

Which is weird. Some Iowa posters on here say there's plenty of money (to pay Fran's buyout, to payoff lawsuits) and some say they need that 7th home game for the money it generates.

There is a difference between needing the 7th home game and not wanting to give up the revenue it generates. Barta is smart and prefers to have 7 home games a year. Pollard is dumb and would rather travel to Akron, Toledo and Vegas.

We've been told they need the 7th home game and that's why they won't do a neutral site game so now I'm confused

I dont think I ever said Iowa needed 7 home games. Any AD would be stupid to give the 7th home game up though, especially to travel to non P5 schools.
Notre Dame has played tons of non Power 5 schools on the road or at neutral sites.
Oklahoma State plays non Power 5 schools on the road, just did last year.
A lot of Power 5 schools play Boise at neutral sites.

We've had this conversation before, and I've shown you that it happens.

And Barta isn't the brainiac you think he is, if he was, he wouldn't owe Griesbaum and Meyer millions.

Youve given me examples of teams traveling to non P5 destinations but most of them still played 7 home games in that year. There were a couple, in addition to ISU, that did it and only had 6 but not many at all.

So Barta could play a school like Notre Dame on a neutral field if he wanted to but he'd be stupid to do it. Got it

Not many at all still means there are some. Notre Dame has 6 games in South Bend this year.

The revenue on a big neutral site game and not having to pay the visiting team may even counter losing that 7th game.
