Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

For like the umpteenth thousand time we are back to talking about football rankings on a basketball thread!! This thread needs to die now!! Pretty much sums up what Twins, buddy and thinker (mashed taters) thinks of this thread and the kid with in the foreground are the what the rest of us think of this thread.

Everyone else would agree for the mods to take behind the barn.

Lol on the first part

Why on the bolded part

That first part is 100% true. He has gone down in results all 3 years at ISU. Not saying he cant turn it around but that is what happened. He missed on transfer recruits and started building the HS brand. Shayok is probably the only huge transfer get in 3 years.

Iowa has good young talent coming in. Connor is an actual PG that can be given minutes. Smart player too. Weiskamp helps make the roster more stable by being a possible 2-3 guy. More of a 3.

I think Iowa can improve. I can see the potential that is there. Now Fran has to do something with it. I have seen him have success at Iowa before and think he can do it again. That is pretty simple logic.

No he hasn't. His second year he finished with more wins than his first, more conference wins, higher conference placing (2nd, 5th the year prior) and won a Big 12 Tournament Title

Connor was going to redshirt last year because he couldn't beat out a bad mid major player for backup PG minutes. Derp

What happened in his 3rd year when those high end recruits from Fred left?

Link?

Connor wanted to play baseball, I assume he also wants to play with his brother, So he redshirted or was going to redshirt before injury to focus more on baseball and get another year to play with his brother. Balance out the classes. Williams saw Connor was better and left is my real guess at what happened. BUT if you have the inside info please share.

Last year was going to be a rebuilding year no matter what. You don't lose that core of guys and not take a step back. I get it you want Prohm to not be a good coach but that's just not the case

Link? Fran said all along Connor was going to redshirt and Williams was going to be the backup PG. If Connor was good he would have helped a lot last year and redshirting him makes zero sense

Also I was looking at the whole season. going from round of 16 to round of 32 to not making anything.

It is well established where ISU fans sit with Fran, heck most Iowa fans are right there with ya. The different is we want Iowa to be successful and you guys want Iowa to fall off the cliff again. Iowa is teetering on that edge and you guys love it. Iowa fans feel there is some hope that it can get turned around but next year is a big year. A lot has to go right.

All fair observations. Not sure why this thread can't be more like this.
