Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

Poor attempt here, kinda lazy really

I said 99% sure it wont happen, Locure could get more offers and is getting looks right now from a lot of places now that he is playing on a different AAU team. Terry is blowing up and it isnt even summer.

Last year I think it was one of the ISU recruits blew up in the spring and summer and now he is the top of the 2018 class for you guys....

Spending time talking about something that's 99% not going to happen is kind of pointless on here IMO

Terry had P5 offers a while back. Locure doesn't have any and it's middle of May before his senior year

So that means he wont get any this summer?! you are very stubborn and narrow minded if you think he will not get looks, he already is by a handful of power 5 teams......

Ummm. I know that, that is what I am saying, why do ISU fans love to argue about stuff you are saying? ha
Because if you really believed this, you would've already s***canned Fran instead of still counting the years until it happens. This isn't a value to them, it's a justification.

We know about this -- a good chunk of us here went through it with Rhoads.

Who is looking at him? I have no idea if he will blow up or not but I do know Drake stopped recruiting him a while back which is pretty telling IMO

You would fire a guy that shows improvement and still gets good recruits? I cant tell if you are sarcastic or not.

No it starts now. If he misses next year and goes 14-19 again it is see ya later man.

My 99% sure this senerio wont play out theory is this.........

It would be very complicated if he had Carton, Patrick, and another 4* on board for 2019 though. That is where it gets interesting. They you say, OK. This is your last shot. Win with those guys and bohannon group or be gone. (But honestly, Carton is not coming to Iowa IMO. I think he goes to UNC or Kansas.... isnt that where all really highly rated kids in Iowa go? Maybe he even goes to Michigan or OSU)

If Patrick can get some of his new AAU guys to follow him to Iowa that would be cool, but again that wont happen.
I see. I wasn't sure what you were getting at. I'd have a hard time keeping a coach after 3 NCAA tournament misses under almost any circumstance. There are always exception and I'd have to review after that 3rd miss. It would take some serious special circumstances.

Zeke Nnaji is a 4* recruit with an Iowa offer
Tyrel Terry is currently sitting good with 160ish overall rating in 247....

Both play with Patrick, Iowa wont get the top 10 player but he is playing with Patrick also.

Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas State, Iowa have all had people watch his AAU games I believe. So the interest is building for him. Very thin group of PG in 2019 is what I have heard. This is according to twitter. At the very least I know KSU and Iowa have started following him more.

Patrick doesn't have the attitude or skill level to keep a coach for but I hope they keep Fran after another missed tourney because of him

Iowa pushed Tom Davis out even though he didn't have a losing conference season his final five years and he didn't fail to reach 20 wins any of his final five seasons.

I think it will be pretty tough for Iowa to not show any improvement in the win/loss column next year. They went 4-14 in a bad conference with a poor OOC. Heck, Nebraska won 22 games last year and wasn't that close to making the tournament tbh. Iowa didn't beat a single tournament or NIT team. If Cook leaves I agree the overall roster changes are a net negative and things could be similar to last year, but it truly is a can't get any worse scenario. I can already see the "improvement" narratives coming from Fran apologists.

This still amazes me.

So you can see why they don't have the balls to do it again.
