Um, yes there is a chance. I felt Iowa would be upper half and fighting for a chance to be in the tournament. I was not upset with the prediction of 8-10, I was more reserved about that.
Can you post all the articles about how special the 17-18 season was going to be by the local writers. Oh the register picked them to be 4th. The local paper. Pick the local team. To be good. SHOCKER.

Iowa fans and local media were losing their mind why national guys didn't have them in any preseason tourney projections last season
I questioned why in the hell teams like ISU were getting the benefit of the doubt when they lost everyone but Iowa was not in it. Turns out I was half wrong. All the predictions I have just read state.... Iowa can be good, but the defense has to improve...... Well the defense did not so all of those predictions were correct. Iowa was good in one area of the game and terrible in another.

Does he still have all of that respect after a last place finish in 2017-2018? Just for comparison sake. I remember guys saying good things about Fran too after the 2nd year.
Yeah, he does. Almost every game down the stretch last season, the commentators would bring up the difficult situation they were in this year with the roster turnover, and praise Prohm for going out and getting the recruiting class he got coming in next year.
Is that "respect"? I guess, I'm not sure. But the talking heads weren't discussing "How did Prohm lose this team?" "he's really had his team underperforming this year" or things of that nature. So if there was respect there before, it wasn't lost due to last year.
Prohm has accomplished more at Iowa State than Fran has in his entire career. Cmon you really don't think Prohm is better than Fran?

LOL wow! Even in late January the local beat writers, radio, and TV guys were still commenting on how they didn't see this coming and "what did we miss" with this team.
