I think it gets pushed because of the amount of people that don't improve or regress under Fran but still get playing time. That list is a lot longer than the list of those who got better
Well woodbury even improved under fran.
Uhl and Basabe are ones that come to mind that regressed noticeably.
Ogelsby Wagner and Ellingson were roll players that did not even get to where they need to be.
that is 5 for sure that did not pan out like I thought they could.

McCabe, Cartwright, Pemsl, Gesell, Basabe, Uhl, Clemmons, Woodbury, Ellingson, Ogelsbly and Wagner are players that didn't transfer out to another basketball program where you could say they didn't improve or got worse. That's a ton of players
Except the players I listed didn't transfer out. They finished their basketball careers at Iowa. That's a huge list
He did not improve every year? He was a project player, but he did improve every year fromFR to Sr year.
Care to explain how Woodbury, Clemmons, Cartwright, Pemsl, and Woodbury did not improve? I am not saying they were stars.
Advanced stats say he was better as a sophomore than a junior but even then they were pretty much stagnant his whole career
He really wasn't supposed to be a project player. He was considered one of the best high school posts in the country.

Pemsl was coming off injury and got injured. He is a soph.
Cartwright had his role changed to a facilitator and only took 1/3 of the 3s he took the year before and also had 30 less turnovers to go along with a better FT percentage. Advanced stats tell a different story. He also played with Gatens that senior year I beleive where Gatens was given a greater roll by the Iowa staff.

Both Pemsl and Cartwright's advanced stats got worse their second year at Iowa compared to their first. Lol cmon man
Try looking at their whole body of work, injuries, Cartwright also was injured I believe his last year. I am not making excuses I am just look at things a little more in depth I guess.
To be fair, Pemsl was physically assaulted in December.
