Jewel would be your best bet. Our roads are just wet and the grass barely covered. Did you hear UNI cancelled classes today? Might be a bit more snow over by Grundy Center.

South Hamilton just cancelled so it looks like Grundy or bust. At least the wife has a cousin there so I could at least crash somewhere.

So before all this weather yesterday, it was about 50 degrees. They actually got a girls' golf meet in. Our team set a school record low team score and our golf phenomenon set a school low score of 31. She is a sophomore this year.

I suppose if the ground is froze you can get a couple goods bounces, skips and rolls on your drive.

Gathered up some old paperbacks in an attempt at starting some spring cleaning. Walked them down to the Little Free Library box thingie a few blocks from me. And ended up walking back with them since the box is behind a three foot deep snow pile that extends six feet back from the street. Ah, spring in the northland.

Would never buy insurance from these hacks but Geico commercials do crack me up, especially when I am slightly buzzed.

The baby talk to dogs one with McGruff amuses me. "Got to go tinky poo poo?"

Our oldest was named after my paternal grandma and hubby's maternal grandma who had the same name. My grandma was born in like 1905, so an old/classic name. So happened while I was pregnant a famous tv character named her baby the same name. Has been in the top 5 baby girl names the past 15 years. She has 4 in her class alone. We can't go to a sporting event without hearing it multiple times on opposing teams as well. Still don't regret the name choice, I loved my grandma and so many good memories with her. And it is one of those names that stands the Grandma Test. If you put Grandma in front of the name, does it sound good/normal/not weird.

I'm almost positive I know which name you're talking about and that's DH's fave girl name but I've vetoed due to the popularity. My great-grandma had one of those old timey classic names that is coming back now but DH dislikes because "old lady name".

Of course, a well-known couple used my current fave for their daughter a couple years ago or so and I knew then it would skyrocket in popularity, which it has.

The grandma test is a GREAT idea!

My personal test is, does it sound like a name an adult would have in the working world.

A lot of names sound like cute kid names, but might not be the best name for an adult.

There are going to be a lot of guys named Aiden, Kaiden, Jayden, Brayden, Blahblayden...

We were concerned about nicknames, kids names can’t be altered real easy to make a mean one. We actually named our first kid for a shortened version of his first name. He has a second cousin in town that was two years older with the nickname also with the traditional long version so we went with a different one that actually works with his middle and last names tremendously. Because of being in the same daycare and the other kid being there also, his full first name was always used and we learned to like it better and nobody uses his shortened name. He has been called it a couple times by people and he corrects them when they say it.

With a wife as a teacher, we also had the name issue of her associating names with problem kids. My first choice for a girls name turns out to be my MILs legal name so that was destroyed. With wanted a version of her middle name, but I have a sister named that.
