That’s a fair point. It’s not always true that good FT shooter = good shooter, but it usually is the case. Especially for a high school kid, 85% on high volume is likely a pretty high indicator he’s going to be a good three point shooter.

I don’t know anything about Nixon nor have ever seen him play. If he is taking a high volume of difficult shots, then sure, he could still be a good shooter. If he is a low volume shooter and takes mostly open shots within the flow of the offense, he probably is what his FG% and 3PT% says he is.
