Sounds like Ahmad Wagner will be checking out Kentucky this weekend to discuss the opportunity to play football.

They offered him a football scholly out of HS.

Yes, the only way he could play 2 years of football is to play at Iowa or transfer to an FCS school.

If he transfers to play football at another FBS school he has to sit out 1 to play 1.

Other programs showing interest, besides Iowa and Kentucky, are Louisville, Cincinnati and Akron.

Another note, Iowa is currently at 87 scholarship players right now so that could be part of the reason he is exploring other schools.

Granted, you can always count on attrition after Spring ball but no way of knowing how many leave.

Yes, I would also be shocked if Toks ever plays football again so he is most likely going to reduce that number by 1. Will get to stay on scholly but not count against the 85 limit. I would imagine Iowa will have room for Wagner if they want to offer a scholly.

I would imagine that they're trying pretty hard to get him as a walk-on, but that's always tough against a different schools scholarship
