Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

I'm not trolling on this subject but OK. What's Kakert saying Iowa not going after a grad transfer? I'm sure he's spinning it like it's no big deal

Found it, you really need to keep your stories straight.

Who is Blair? I thought Kakert ran HR and his "sources" told him Uhl was a 5 star talent so I'm not going to believe anything said over there about recruiting

Those are the same story?

No, months ago Kakert had sources that told him Uhl would have been a 5 star. Now its Kakert said Uhl was supposed to be a 5 star.

Just like the evaluation Twins gave of Tyrell Terry. 3 weeks ago he was an "LOL" player that Iowa should not have to do anything special to land. Now after its reported that Prohm is recruiting him, the same kid has a "crafty, unique game" and Twins likes him as a player.

And?

People do realize Patrick had cancer at 14 right? I guarantee you his weight and muscle mass has been affected by first the thyroid cancer and the then the subsequent treatment. I don't know what the long term side effects are but I wouldn't be surprised to learn it had something to do his ability to add weight and/or muscle.

Why would you as a parent want to risk having a son, play D1 basketball coming of thyroid cancer if you knew he couldn't add weight/muscle? To be 6'8" and only 180-190 lbs would not want me as parent having a son playing basketball at this level just coming off cancer, just due to the physical pounding you can take.

I know we have seen/read all the stories about athletes coming back from cancer, but he looks like a gust of wind could blow him over compared to others. He will be a finesse player and not a post up type physical player. My point here is as his dad is also the coach, it just has to be a tough decision to whether to have him play or not considering what he went through. You pray to god that nothing happens in the future whether it be an injury or the cancer comes back. It's gotta be tough on mom and dad.

Pretty sure they would have had a medical professional clear him before allowing him to play basketball again.

So you disagree with the person who said little Fran can’t gain muscle or weight because of his cancer at 14? I’m no doctor, but hasn’t he grown since 14? If so, you would think he could gain weight and muscle. Or is he the same height as when he developed cancer?

What? That has nothing to do with my post. The post I was responding to made it sound like his parents were putting him in harms way by letting him to play basketball. I am sure medical professionals were consulted before they let him back on the court.

In regards to his weight, no idea what the cancer may have done to his development.

You need to pay attention. That is what the post you responded to was talking about.

Fran has proven to be a pretty poor parent but I don't think he's done anything wrong by letting Patrick play basketball. I'm sure he was medically cleared
