Iowa Football Recruiting

Well the ISU staff offered Render and wanted him to play at their school so it could have just been as easy for him to play instead of Good Jones. It is just logical.

Reynolds was a late offer in the 2014 class

In 2015 when Meeker and GJ were being recruited ISU offered all of the same prospects as Iowa. Iowa got who they wanted and Meeker and GJ chose ISU instead..... Iowa got 5 OL that year from Iowa so taking 7 would have been stupid.

Do your homework

Also I could be wrong but IIRC I don't think anyone wanted the Paulsen twins but Iowa. Obvious to see why now

How'd that turn out for you guys?
One had a career ending injury. One was moved as he was either a DT or a OL went to DT. the twins were OK. One Paulsen will pay a lot this year while the other will probably be buried. So.... GJ and Meeker would probably be in the same boat as those guys. Not to mention Iowa has had Croston, Ward, Daniels, and Welsh starting and I think they made it onto NFL rosters or will get a shot. So, like I said, it is a pointless comparison because they probably would not have played at Iowa yet considering those who do usually go the pro route, or at least get a look.

What are you talking about? Like do Iowa fans not realize Good Jones is good?

I am not saying he isnt good, he is not the best lineman in the state hands down like you claim he is. Other guys are just as good as him on the Iowa roster is what I am saying and I do not know why that is so hard to believe considering the line of work that Iowa OL have put in front of you in the Kirk tenure. Kirk has faults, but OL is not it dude.

Good Jones is better than Reynolds, the Paulsens and Render. All of which played last year but you are saying he wouldn't have seen the field yet at Iowa. Do you realize how dumb that sounds?

Paulsen twins weren't 4* recruits and ISU didn't recruit them
Rivals Ranked the Twins 1 and 2 that year and GJ was 5 and Meeker was 6 in the state rankings..... so according to rivals, those were the better guard recruits in Iowa. Not that hard to figure out.

Weachter was an OT recruit and ranked 8. Again, Meeker and GJ might have been rated higher but they were not OT recruits in Iowas eyes.

James Daniels, enough said, He was a top flight recruit so there are 3 interior guys ranked higher already in the same class as GJ and Meeker all according to rivals rankings by their professionals. Newborg was also ranked higher and was an interior OL or DT and Iowa decided to recruit him at DT. but that would make 4 guys playing the same positions as GJ and Meeker as higher recruited. Meeker and GJ did not get an Iowa offer because of this.

Weachter might have been just as good as GJ or Meeker considering their rankings, but he had a career ending injury.

OK, so if those other 4 went to ISU would they have played ahead of any of the guys on your roster? I think we know that the answer would be yes. At least 1 or 2 would have. Which is all that have seen time at Iowa because of the depth Iowa has up front.

Render would have for sure played at ISU in some capacity by now

Sounds like TCU leads for Duggan now.

Works for me, keep him out of the B1G.
No clue what to think. First its Nebraska, then UNC, then its Minnesota, then its TCU.

All I know is that if Duggan chooses TCU, we probably won't see him on the field until his Jr. or Sr. year.

He'd be behind some studs.

Jirehl Brock will be back in Iowa City next Friday for the Spring game.

This is his 5th visit to Iowa, IIRC.
