Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

So are their fans. This has barely been a blip on the radar over on HN and HR. I have a feeling he'll transfer to UNI and be all-world over there.

Pemsl has annoyed me since the first time I watched him in hs. I might cheer for him when he plays the Hawks.

Me too. Cordell if you're reading this you grew up an Iowa fan and this is your dream. Who cares about wins and losses this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to play basketball for four years with your best friends!
Agree. Why would anyone want to break up the Dirty (bakers) Dozen? Especially now that Quasimodo Jr. has joined as a walk-on. We need @YeahBuddy 's take on this one.

The more I think about this topic - I can't think of any grad transfer who would consider Iowa. Grad transfers are usually looking for a bigger role and/or a bigger stage. If Mooney, for instance, was only looking for a bigger stage - he might consider a KU or Duke blueblood where he may only get 15-18 minutes (but he has a legit chance to get to the FF). If he is looking for both, he will go to a P5/6 school where he can be a focal point on a nationally relevant team & play in some NCAA tourney games. Iowa's philosophy, under Fran, seems to emphasize depth - gotta play 10-11 each game. There is NOT enough minutes for a grad transfer to be satisfied with that arrangement. Then, there's the issue of getting to the NCAAs - that is NOT a "given" under Mad Fran. So, there are no enticements for a grad transfer to answer Iowa's call (if they are making any in the first place).

The point isn't necessarily if Iowa could land one of these players, but to have a glaring weakness/need and to not even be linked to a single grad transfer?
That's the problem I'd have if I was an Iowa fan.
Rob Howe can get all defensive, but if Iowa was actively pursuing any of these guys, there would be something on Twitter. (Maybe there has been. I don't follow the Iowa reporters so I could have missed it.)
You don't have to go after the top guys and battle bluebloods. There are plenty of transfers to go around.

I think it's pretty clear at this point since they aren't going after a grad transfer that he's doing anything he can get to Connor minutes

With the AD basically saying "do what you want", sure.
