Except when you're in a bowl game and the medics are waiting on the sideline with a stretcher because your QB is hobbling around like a geriatric. Then, it's probably a good idea to give the backup some snaps.

Its not a troll. KF was asked about it and said they gave him the option to come out if he was in too much pain. The med staff cleared him.
