Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

There are 4 top 50 kids combined in the 2018-2020 classes plus a really good player in AJ Green and Prohm isn’t coming close to getting any of them. But hey, he reeled in Brady Ernst.

The narrative comes from this post:

So let's play out this absurd narrative that it is important to focus on in-state recruits. Let's say over the course of the last 5 years you got the best of the best in-state, excluding JUCO. By my count, you'd have wound up with:

Jok, Pemsl, Connor McAffrey, Kreiner, Klint Carlson, Casey Schlatter and JBo. What a powerhouse.

Who says you have to take a kid each year but its really dumb not to focus on instate kids?

And convenient you left Wieskamp off the list. If you were able to keep most of Jok, Bohannon, Connor, Patrick, Wieskamp, Green, Carton and Foster home in a roughly 8 year time period that is a pretty good start on recruiting.

And that has NOTHING to do with Joe shutting down his recruitment 2 years ago.
Please. If KU, UK, Duke, NC, etc. wanted this kid, they would still offer him. They're not afraid of an Iowa offer (LOL). And if I'm this kid and have an offer from Iowa and one of those blue bloods comes calling, I would pack my bags and go play for any of those coaches instead of playing for a raving lunatic.
