Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

Here is the deal. I could tell alot by the kid when he was on the same floor with a kid who was eating his lunch and he didn't respond by getting aggressive and trying to carry his team aka leading it. He screamed at his teammates a few times which shouldn't come as a shock considering his old man tends to freak out and clutch up when the going gets tough.
Does he also throw clipboards and chairs like his dad?

One can only hope...

I would be shocked if Carton picks Iowa.

I think Patrick is a lot like Connor in that he had advanced skills for his age, except with Patrick's height it made him a better prospect. I don't think he falls as far as Connor by the end of his Senior year but I don't think he will be top 50. He will still be a 6'8 kid who can handle the ball, can pass and has a high IQ. I wonder if he will always struggle to get bigger weight/muscle wise due to the cancer and subsequent treatment?

I just watched some vid. on Patrick. Looks like a pretty good player to me, but that was against Iowa HS competition. I didn't do an extensive search, so I didn't see any video of him at one of the shoe camps or anything against national competition. Don't these kids mostly get their ranking based on how they compete in AAU tournaments and shoe camps that are against way better competition than at their local high school level? Anyway, he probably needs a redshirt year to put on some more weight.

Maybe it's just the media that's high on him. I guess I don't know why you think Patrick will stay where he is at in the rankings when his brother who at least has a Big Ten frame couldn't stay in the top 150

What has the media said that makes you think they are unreasonably high on Connor?

Also, I have no idea what Connor’s slide in the rankings has to do with Patrick.

Chad and all them slobber over how good he is. They used to refer to him as a top 100 recruit for the longest time even when he wasn't and now it's top 150 even though he isn't that either lol

Can you show me some of the articles or tweets that slobber all
over him? And how did it go from Iowa fans are too high on him to the Iowa media are too high on him to now it’s just “Chad and them”?

You have serious issues with the McCaffery kids. It’s not healthy to be that obsessed with two teenagers.

I'm obsessed with Fran's entitled sons? Lol that's a reach even for you

These are fan sites aren't they?

McCaffery is a Top 100 point guard from Iowa City West High School. He was expected to redshirt this season and play baseball, but backup point guard Christian Williams’ decision to transfer just before the season forced him to switch gears.

It's certainly unusual to see a Top 100 basketball recruit like McCaffery deferring the start of his college career like this, but this is also a very unique situation.

Connor McCaffery, all things considered, has the potential to be a major upgrade from Christian Williams immediately. While Williams was arguably Iowa’s best perimeter defender, McCaffery is coming in as a borderline Top-100 recruit and is better suited to take over backup PG duties than Williams, who struggled as a primary ball-handler and shooter.

Yes, you are obsessed with both of them. Really creepy.

And those snippets aren’t exactly slobbering all over Connor. Nice reach.

Calling a kid who's not even in the top 150 a top 100 recruit is the definition of slobbering over him

One of the articles is from almost a year ago. Do you know when he dropped out of the Top 100?

The one refers to him as a Top 100 PG, pretty sure that would be accurate.

Couple years ago, he didn't drop out of the 150 until the last updates of his senior year so like a year ago

Have you seen him play? Or are you going by what read? Maybe you better go back to Saragin or KenPom to have them help you out.

I haven't seen him play but by the video I have seen of him. The kid needs to redshirt, put on about 30 lbs otherwise he will get eaten alive in league play. Fran has never been to big on physical players except those with eye gouging tactics always the finesse players.

So.. have you seen him play or not? I can only assume your lack of an answer means no since you stated that you rely on others to judge talent and take their word for it.

Not a ton. Which is why I will trust the people that are paid to evaluate talent for a living over some ISU fans that have a crazy obsession with the McCaffery boys.

I'm smart

I've never had any communication with any McCaffery kid in my entire life. Weak even for you

If you know when an Iowa kid dropped out of the Top 100 then you are either obsessed with the kid, with Iowa or both.

My money is on both.

Saying I'm obsessed with basketball recruiting is a lot different then implying I need to leave someone alone I've never even talked to or met
