Football Fan Map

Pure Hokdom at its finest--no wonder their fans are known for their belligerence.

I lived in the 'Iowa shaded' part of southern Minnesota for 10 years and it was 90% Gopher country. The accuracy of this map is questionable, at best.

Agreed. I've lived all of my non-college life within 10 miles of the Minnesota border, and I don't know a single Minnesotan that roots for the Hawkeyes, that isn't someone from Iowa living on that side of the line.

By the same token, I don't know anyone that's a hardcore Gopher fan either.

Probably my biggest takeaway from this map is how little certain states like Minnesota, Illinois, Colorado... etc care about their in-state college team.

Those are definitely three Pro sports states. California has enough population and teams that they have hardcore college and hardcore pro fans.

Yup, and Big Bang Theory was the 6th most watched TV show in 2017. I don't know what you are trying to prove here. That lots of people have **** taste?

This is what Hok Fandom is all about. They are the chosen people. By just being a Hok fan, you are better. By being a Hok recruit, you automatically get 1 or 2 (or 3) more stars. Why? Well because they are Hoks and all power and glory flows through Hokdom. They must be better, I mean look at that map! To them this map just proves that. That is why they work so hard to talk up their recruits and the relevance of their programs.

Now, if the reality of results would just stop getting in the way, they could get on with their alternate world.

Illinois is a "professional sport" state. College sports do not matter in the least here.

I can't stand sports fans here, btw. They all have completely unrealistic expectations when it comes to their teams. Bears fans never seem to come to grips with the facts that calling their team ownership "incompetent" is an insult to incompetent people. Same with the Bulls.
