I'll call it now, if Wagner stays to play football, he'll start and look better than Lazard playing receiver. Bigger, faster, stronger, smarter. Just imagine for a moment even Josh Jackson or Desmond King trying to fight of a block from Ahmad.
I don't know about a scholarship right away, but why not invite him in for some workouts/spring ball and see if it pans out.
Basically is a no-lose situation for them if it happens.

Would seem crazy if they gave him one without seeing him in practice for several weeks.
Wagner not going to play at Iowa, unless he walks on, which would be stupid for him given how stacked we are at TE. He'd be smart to find a FCS program where he'd actually get onto the field.
Since hawk fans were saying he’s better than Lazard, linked above, you saying Lazard should have went FCS or your current receivers are way better than Lazard caliper?
I kind of disagree with that line of thinking. If he really wants to play football for a career, just going someplace to get on the field might not be the best move. He would get way better coaching and development for the position at Iowa or find another school that can develop TEs.
In that case, not only is it the best move, it's the only move. NFL guys probably not going to come away impressed with 0 game reps and blank stat line.

At least you are being more rational than the HR folks. I agree he needs to get playing time. Nothing like talking to a scout and saying you got to go in and kneel the ball at the end of the game once.
