.

Between Lewis, Long and Lard, at least 1 will not be here next year. Maybe open a spot or two for grad/juco. Law of averages would say 2 of the incoming players should help next year. With Shayok and Jacobson, we’ll be fine.

Even if 1 of them transfer, we sure haven't sparked a Chris Babb/Will Clyburn type of transfer these past 2 years. Of course I know its hard, because if they're any good, everyone in the country goes after them (see Kansas). While we're all expecting good things, we'll have to wait to see if Shayok and Jacobson are big contributors, both fundamentally and leadership wise. This isn't a knock on Prohm at all, because regardless of what some say, he did have to play catch up. Besides Long and Lewis were TJ recruits basically. (for those that insist its because he left we don't have enough good players). Hopefully we'll all feel better about the state of the program after watching the next few games and not let yesterday consume us. Losing and frustration seems to breed more of the same. Iowa going through the same thing, imo. I think the fight that Okie State is putting up this year, and I'd also use Nebraska as an example, of teams that lost players yet have battled negativity and yet been impressive makes our situation feel worse. After all, those teams weren't coming off six straight NCAA appearances. Its been hard for all of us to handle this big of drop off, especially in Hilton. Some attacked CW when he suggested this maybe wasn't even an NIT tournament team in the preseason. That it was being too negative. No it was just being realistic. Here's to hoping we'll see more of that Texas Tech game type team in the future. Battling for 40 minutes and doing the right things, win or lose.

If you truly were see progress until yesterday, you seriously should calm down. My god.

WTF are you talking about? Go back and read my posts today and yesterday; I've been more forgiving to the coaches than others.

I have been seeing progress this year. Yesterday was a step back. Season isn't over. Pretty cut and dry.

Lard?? I think Cam will play four years in Ames and leave as a first team AA.
Both of our assumptions are based on the same amount of fact.

I will be shocked if isu is any higher than a 10 seed next year.

I think we'll be a bubble team next year. If they gel early I could see a team similar to Hoiberg's 2012 & 2013 teams - up and down, but still comfortably in the tournament as a lower seed. Talent will definitely be there.

you know, everyone on here is so bi polar. One week, everyone is happy and praising coach prohm, and the next you guys are calling for his firing. do you remember when you were a freshman in college. lack of maturity, not lack of skill. it will be okay. we aren't making the tourney this year, and you just have to get tf over it.

I love a good panic thread. We will be fine next year. Babb, Wigginton, Shayok, Lard, Jacobsen OR Babb, Wigginton, Shayok, THT, Lard OR Babb, Wigginton, Shayok, Solo, Jacobsen either way they are all good looking line ups.

Prior to yesterday, I was seeing definite progress from the beginning of the year.

Really hoping the coaches and players can figure things out and have a good February.

Yesterday was extremely discouraging, to say the least, but in my mind also a good reminder that forward progress is not always something that you can measure in a straight line that constantly trends upwards.

This team is not so good that we are constantly going to be able to see results like we had against Texas Tech last week, but also not so bad that games like yesterday are going to be the norm. This year's team, with the lineup and youth we feature, is going to fall somewhere in between that spectrum on a game by game basis. Hopefully more towards the Tech win kind of effort, but it's not going to be as consistent as we would like to see.

Some you you guys missed the ten year period starting in 1971 when we had four coaching changes and five coaches in 10 years. The middle part of that with Ken Trickey provided me with a lifetime immunity to yesterday's stuff that's only really been challenged by the Hampton game which is still the worst game in ISU history. Even that game only made me sick and didn't kill me because my ISU immune system was strengthened by the 1970's. You all need to strengthen your immunity systems.

I was at ISU during those years. In the '75-'76 season we had 5,000 people in the stands and they let you in for free after half-time. It's been really bad. That inoculation shot took us through the Johnny Orr/Tim Floyd/Larry Eustachy years. It needed to kick in during the McD era, then Fred made things seem like the virius had run its course and everything will be better. Perhaps it's time for a "booster" shot that can carry us forward to good health and prosperity. Inoculations don't last forever so I suggest visiting a doctor to get your ISU Basketball inoculation. That last shot helped a lot of us cope with the stresses of being an ISU fan.

Tennessee may end up being one of the tougher games on our schedule, especially with as weak as the Big 12 looked yesterday.

What concerns me the most is now we are getting into the meat of our schedule. I dont see us winning a road game and the way TCU handled us last time that might not be a win in Hilton. Realistically we have one game left that we can even hope to win.

Whats going to be the measure of progress if we only win 1 game the rest of the season?

This team needs Babb to put up the numbers he was earlier in the year; getting 12 points, 7 boards, 7 assists. Yesterday he had 0 points, 2 assists and 3 turnovers. I'm guessing his injury is the reason for this.

A calm analysis that still hopes for better things and he needs to calm down.
You're seeing people calling for a firing even when those posts don't exist.
Take a breath and calm down. We're playing badly right now, and it's fair to point that out.

Since people are mentioning Kansas, lots of teams have been taking them to the wire in Lawrence this year. It's a strange year for them at home. That's not pro- or anti-Prohm or anyone else. That's just Lawrence this year.

Blaming coaching for yesterday yet giving coaching no credit for last week is overreacting.

You’re a roller coaster of overreaction.

One game either way can be as simple as one team having an abnormally good game while the other team has a bad game. Yesterday wasn’t the first game of very poor play, whereas the Tech game was filled with us overcoming our poor shot selection by hitting things like a turnaround fadeaway 3P. Consistency is coaching, and you’re not going to be consistent playing like we do.

But since you think the Texas Tech game is some type of counter to games yesterday or UW-Milwaukee, to some it just makes the coaching job the rest of the season look worse. I’m not of that opinion, as Tech had an off game, and we hit some tough shots.
