Butler certainly has to be more consistent. He's a fantastic athlete and I am glad ISU will have him back next year, but he needs to avoid drops.I heard he had a crucial drop on ISU's last drive that would have extended the drive and basically ended the game. Is that not true?

I don't remember that honestly
A quick google search revealed this written by Woody:
"On second and eight, Iowa State quarterback Kyle Kempt delivered a slightly contested but catchable pass to Hakeem Butler on an out route. It hits Butler in the hands, then it hits the ground. If Butler catches the ball, it’s a Kansas State timeout, followed by a running play that either fails and forces the Wildcats to use their final timeout or succeeds and wins the game."

Didn't Lazard's picked up flag follow that play?
Well, you take the good with the bad with a guy like Butler. He made some huge plays this year also that ISU may not have won those games had he not.I would love to have him too. A lot of great WRs have had trouble with drops. It seems that Butler's drops have come during crucial times in games. I think it probably cost you guys two games this year. The Iowa game in OT where if he catches that I think it is 1st and goal from the one or two and then the KSU game.

The far-bigger travesty in the KSU game was not Butler's drop, but our total lack of clutch defense. I was glad to see we learned from that experience come Bowl game time -- instead of sitting back waiting for Ferguson to pick us apart, with a depleted defense, we sent pressure on the final drives. I think something like 7 of Ferguson's last 8 passes were incomplete, most of which involved him running out of the pocket to dodge pressure.I would love to have him too. It looked to me like they both suffered from the same problem -- if the ball looked easy, they turned their heads to run before they caught it. When it was a more difficult ball, they kept their focus on the catch first. It was quite frustrating at times. YAC are great, but they still gotta catch the damn thing first. It's weird how both he and AL could make some tough catches but would drop the really easy ones.

Have no idea. Just heard a lot of my ISU fans complaining about Butler's drop that would have pretty much nullified any bad calls by the officials.
Exposed?? Ignorant statement- 8th rated best rookie season in NFL. You’re slipping, MikeyPlus he doesn’t want to get exposed, and cost himself millions of dollars like a recent cb
It was the exact same formula UCF followed when they played Memphis in the conference championship -- they sent pressure during OT and discovered that Ferguson struggled to throw under pressure/their WR's didn't get enough time to open up.I agree with this. I didn't catch the KSU game, but did see Memphis' last ditch drive and was impressed by the pressure they were getting. Won them the game imo.
It did and that's a horrible comparison because we still needed to pick up a first down even if he caught it
So you disagree with Woody?
