Darius McNeill Numbers This Season

This would have been nice to have this year.

You know what wouldn't be nice to have this year? Their losses to:

UC Riverside
Chaminade (26 pts)
Central AR (27 pts)
Portland State (25 pts)

I'm happy McNeil went somewhere he was more comfortable - MUCH better than him being miserable here wishing he was at Cal.

Cal is awful. The lost 106 to 81 to Portland State. They lost to UC Riverside. The lost to DII Chaminade. The lost to Central Arkansas by 27.

He's putting up decent numbers on a very, very bad team. Not sure how much you can read into that.

It's not like we pulled his scholly and screwed him over. He didn't want to come to Ames and changed his mind at the 11th hour. I'm happy with the guys we have.

And him and his AAU coach are probably thrilled he's 2nd on the team in scoring, and pretty "meh" on the whole losing by 30 to Portland State thing.

It would, but Cal is a very bad team. His numbers probably wouldn’t even be half of that on ISU.

^^^^ This!!! Who exactly would he be stealing minutes from here? Cal has to be the worst Power 5 program in basketball. He sucks, putting up garbage stats on a garbage team.

I think it validates that Prohm knows how to evaluate talent.

Other targets we missed on are doing extremely well also:

Romello White is averaging 15 & 9
McKinley Wright 17 / 5 / 5
Juiston 15 & 11

Most of his top targets have done really well. That gives me confidence in our current class.

Very true. He or Wright would have definitely helped this year, and even more so going forward.

In terms of having success this year, it was a bad spring.

Are you going to continue to bring McNeill up for the next 3 years and Park next year?

Doesn't mean much to put up those kind of stats on a **** team in the non-con.

Would I have taken him? Sure. But California sucks and someone has to do the work.

This. The man can evaluate talent...both Juiston and McNeill went elsewhere for reasons beyond Prohm's control ($'s (UNLV) and AAU (Cali)).

Given the ability to correctly eval talent, get the players that want to be here.
