There were 2 game winning plays that we made and the refs absolutely 100% stole both of those games from us. If not for the refs we are 9-3 and playing in January.
Iowa State's AD made it clear that January Bowl games do not matter.

If I were an ISU fan, I would be excited about this past year too. ISU had a good year. But to say ISU improved as the season went on is false. They had the same ups and downs as most teams have. Finishing 1-3 in November proves that.
NY6 bowl games matter....unless you get totally embarrassed like some schools I know.Iowa State's AD made it clear that January Bowl games do not matter.
I genuinely thought the defense improved as time went on, even in the face of being asked to do more. The offense really didn't improve, but being hampered sporadically with injuries can have that effect. Successful teams don't often end their season by bouncing between their second and third QBs, lose a top-tier RB, and deal with OL instability all due to injuries. If I were an ISU fan, I would be excited about this past year too. I wouldn't say they suddenly regressed back to a 3-9 team, they just stopped finishing out games that they were finishing out earlier in the season. It's not like anyone out there blew us out, even at our worst and weakest.
But what you don't understand is that we were flat out robbed of 2 games. Anyone who watched those games would agree with me.I agree that they were in every game, but they also blew a double digit lead in September in the fourth quarter just like they loss a double digit lead in November in the fourth quarter. ISU played a lot of close games and won some and lost some. That tends to happen when you play a lot of close games. Us Iowa fans know all about that.
Do you think it was a great move to extend Campbell?
In our case, that's a sign of good things. Bad teams often lose games big. Better teams win a few and lose most. Good teams win most and lose a few. Great teams often win big. If we are around the "good" tier after only year 2 of a coach, coming directly from the "bad" tier, we're looking to be in pretty good shape.I agree that they were in every game, but they also blew a double digit lead in September in the fourth quarter just like they loss a double digit lead in November in the fourth quarter. I'm actually stunned that you don't think the OSU call was bad. Every still shot, replay, and angle showed that it was a TD. I really don't see how anyone can look at that and think it was an interception. The KSU calls were even worse.Bad calls happen to everyone. Sucks, I agree, but it will happen again. I still don't think the OSU game was a bad call though. I thought and still think that was an interception. Not sure about the KSU game as I didn't watch it, just heard some things.

Was this written by an Okie St fan? Or a relative of the Big 12 officiating crew? Seriously though, he said the Okie St. player "appeared to have more control". If they both have some control, then it's a tie and the receiving team should be awarded the touchdown per the rules the writer sited in the article. Watching that, I still contend, we got the catch, but even if I concede that and say it was a tie, we were still robbed.

I guess we will have to disagree on that. I just watched it 20 times again. I truly don't see it the way you do.I still believe it was an interception. I feel the OK state guy caught it first and had possession of it on the ground before the ISU guy tried to get dual possession.

I think there are thousands of people out there that would say we were robbed....because we were.I'm sure you don't. Very close play either way and I would never say you got robbed on that call.
TIL giving credit where it's due = moral victoryThats great, congrats to him and you on another moral victory.
