ESPN Gameday

I know they are not coming due to Penn State v Ohio State, however have they ever been to Ames before? I thought maybe in 2002 but cannot confirm/ find. Thank so
 
It’s good exposure and whatever and CMC clearly has his player heads with the right mindset but I’m fine with the players not having that distraction. Just Win baby.

The show hasn't been here for football but in 2002 for the Nebraska game they sent someone to Ames to report on the game for gameday so that's why 2002 sticks out for you.

Where did they end up going in 2002? I remember it was a bigger snub that year, but I can’t find anything on where they actually went to confirm.

They were on campus following Seneca around as he was a Heisman contender at that point. But that quickly fell apart with the OU debacle.
 
I think Fox did something back in 2002. I got a Dodge Ram tailgate tour t shirt back then I think.
Jim Knox jumped off an RV in the student lots.

I realize that ESPN College GameDay is huge and FOX seems more geared towards the NFL. But why doesn't FOX do a College Football show on Saturday morning similar to ESPN's on FS1? Right now they do an hour pregame show, but it is nothing like Gameday. I doubt it would beat ESPN's, but there are a ton of people tired of the ESPN BIG/SEC bias. I would switch between the two at least. Any one else ever wonder this?

I'm sure the return on the cost of doing a live on site show is terrible. I wonder if ESPN would even be doing it these days if it wasn't an established institution
