In memoriam of Brian Ferentz as Iowa's OC

Brian must have decided to retire before his dad. 10 points against mighty Northwestern, 10 points against Michigan State. Does he realize there are games scheduled after the Iowa State game?
10 points usually keeps you in boring B1G games. I glanced at the MSU Indiana game yesterday and it was 6-3 after 3 quarters. Woof

Waiting for the great Big10 defense argument. Yet receivers are wide open and getting overthrown by 20 yards or dropping balls that hit them in the hands.
Brain sure loves running Wadley in a crowded phone booth.

Development...what team has seen their lines develop and improve through the season...that shows how well the coaches are doing. What team is showing that...not the one out East.

I'll give you that the Iowa O-line has seen some injuries...but most teams have to deal with that...I'd expect Iowa to be less impacted given their "deep" benches and well paid coaches...

How long until the kids at the Children’s Hospital hold Fire The Ferentz’ signs during The Wave?

The problem with a program like Iowa is they don't recruit well enough to sustain any type of injuries. They just don't have any depth

But they wanted their more talented Freshmen to play. That was 1 (of many) knocks on Big F. Most of the time playing freshmen is not a good thing, particular on the OL. Josey & Snyder out with injury, so depth is definitely being tested.

Kirk's kid's offense managed to get 10 points against a salty Northwestern defense:rolleyes:. That will keep them competitive in most biG conference games.

Once the thought of their SOS (by any metric) being salvaged by Penn State's continued winning (& moral victory of coming so close to beating them), he & the others will return triumphantly

Iowa's offense is indeed a hot mess right now. New OC, new positional coaches, and mostly very inexperienced skill players all over the place. And it doesn't help both tackles are learning on the job.

This was going to be a 2012 type offensive year for Iowa no matter what. You'd have to have your head in the sand to not see that it was going to be this way this year with them. Some games like ISU, they'll light things up. Others, not.

Having jNW on the road coming off a bye...very predictable with how Ferentz teams go through the years.

Look for them to rebound at home against Minnesota next week.

Some of those guys wouldn't see the field in the MAC.
