I probably wouldn't sleep on Iowa's two CBs. Both are exceptionally athletic and are going to be pretty good. As for WR, who knows? Vandeberg was on his way to a standout season and they did lose another WR who has a pretty good chance of making an NFL roster this year. The passing game just didn't gel for a number of reasons, including pass protection and predictability. Teams just teed off on the OL in pass pro.
Iowa is actually deeper at WR than a year ago, and much deeper than they were in spring ball. but very unproven and outside of Vandeberg and Fant at TE. We can't really put the others in the starting lineup or in depth chart ahead of ISU's group. Lazard isn't the fastest guy in the world but he's pretty big target and fast enough to get open when he has to. I'd probably go with Iowa's RBs over the ISU guy. The Mountain West isn't exactly a pushover and he's already turning heads with his running ability and versatility.
Iowa is probably deeper at 2-3 positions along the OL than ISU, but Campos probably should get the nod at one of the tackles. I'm not sure how his previous injuries have limited his effectiveness but we'll see. If there were a 2 deep of OL guys, you'd probably see Iowa holding 7 of the 10 spots. Park should be the starter at QB regardless. He's the only one with much game experience too..
I'd probably give Iowa the nod for at least 3/4 of the defense including all the LBs. Neimann at OLB can cover a lot of ground and Jewell is one of the best in college football. Bower will likely be an honorable mention All Big 10 type if he stays healthy-he did have 91 tackles last year at WLB . I'd put Rugamba and Cotton-Moya at DB. Hesse and both Nelsons probably would be #1 on the DE depth chart at ISU. The same with Bazata at DT, but Iowa's other DT is talented but unproven. I would even start both of ISU's 2 CBs but could be singing a different tune at the end of the season. Rugamba is a ball hawk who can run.
