Iowa's TE Kittle ran faster 40 than Lazard. Should move to TE

It's pretty easy to have size and still be physically over matched. When you are inexperienced you over think thus get burned. They can be good dbs, but they are gonna have growing pains early on

That sounds more like being mentally over matched than physically.

Understandable, and the same could be said about ISU's OL. A lot of ISU fans are high on the group because of the supposed improvement that was shown as the season progressed last year and getting Campos back.

Iowa fans disagree and think the OL for ISU will be a weakness looking in from the outside.
Wholeheartedly agree. Being both a group of weakness and a group of improvement is entirely possible as far as I'm concerned. Our line will be better, but that by no means indicates that it will suddenly become awesome.

Absolutely the o-line is a question mark for next year. Getting a healthy Campos back will help. I think our starters will be just fine but once again depth will be an issue. I do think that in another year or two Iowa State will have a pretty solid o-line and we will have depth that we haven't had in a long time. Obviously this takes a few recruiting cycles and development time is needed but Manning is one of the best in the business.

Who is going to start on the OL for ISU? Assume the 3 Iowa kids and then who else?

3 – An offensive line projection…

Exiting the spring, I had Dawson jotted down as a projected starter for opening night vs. UNI. I reached out to a reliable birdie on Monday night to see what he’d say about projected starters now.

Bryce Meeker, Oge Udeogu, Julian Good-Jones, Robbie Garcia and Jake Campos,” he said in order from left to right.

I then threw out the name Sean Foster, who he assured me would also be in the mix.

My guess is that in camp, the top conversation will be how ready Foster is to start in the Big 12 as a redshirt freshman. If that is the case, the battle will be between Meeker, Garcia and Oge for the two guard spots.

Thats a great question. You see what Williams thinks, I disagree with him in a spot or maybe two. I think it will be LT: Foster G: Meeker C: JGJ G: Udeogu RT: Campos

The coaches have said good things about Garcia but at just over 280 lbs I'm not sure that's big enough, though they like his toughness and maybe he would often be the pulling guard.

Also I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Knipfel starting at guard. I left him off because he's a true sophomore and has only been here since beginning of Summer.

Isnt Garcia transitioning from the DL?

I am really interested to see how Foster turns out as a player. His recruiting was fairly interesting with him being an Iowa legacy, highly rated and never landing the Iowa offer.

If you read what I quoted carefully, he quoted someone else's picks and then says if Foster is ready at LT he could see Meeker, Oge and Garcia duking it out for the guard spots. Essentially your starting line-up.

He switched part way through the year last year. He started some games at DT early in his career (too early).

I didn't read the last part of your quote.

Foster is 6'8 304. Not bad size, but still maybe a tad slender for 6'8, though Campos is listed at 300.

You might know more about ISU football than I know about Iowa basketball which is saying something. I still think you guys really missed the boat not offering Good-Jones.

He had less tackles than Spencer Benton and Josh Jahlas. Came to Iowa as a WR but wasn't good enough to get in the rotation there since Iowa is loaded at that position

Most of Iowa's great corners had elite talent and could have played WR as well.
