I just gave you a list of similarly recruited players that turned out great for Iowa and that is why Iowa fans have reason to be optimistic. Plus, please don't try and compare the list of lightly recruited players for ISU and Iowa. There is no comparison.

Were you really high on all those players when they came in or is Smith an outlier there too?

Some yes, some I had never really heard of much and were great surprises. Also had some I was high on that never played a down. So you never know.

Smith and Jalen Martin (ISU RS Fr) were almost identical recruits.

I'm excited about Jalen, so I don't see what's so wrong about them being excited about Smith.

Well a) I don't know many people that were expecting Martin to produce much if at all as a true freshman and b) I don't know why Iowa fans would be excited about any lightly recruited WR with their offense and track record under Ferentz

Well you do get Iowa at home so that makes a difference.

Have anything if games were played on a neutral field?

So ISU will be favored to beat Iowa?

Well, ISU is also much deeper at the WR position ATM.

Ouch, so when the Hawks beat you again you are staring at another 3-4 win season.

Now that is "raising the standard".
