Iowa Football Recruiting

May want to look at the stats again. From my quick look isu had 5,050 total yards in 2016 and 4,900 in 2015. Not sure how that equates to 55 yards per game.

Point remains, same offense and same results.
55 yards per game higher than the average Rhoads season from 2009-2015. Maybe I should have clarified.

Yes, I'm sure it's he same exact offense. Same plays, formations, etc.

You can't even reason with Hok trolls.

Yes take one year and compare it not to the previous season but the average from 2009-15. That whopping 159 yards to difference from 2015 clearly demonstrates how massivly different CMC's schemes, sets, formations and plays really are. Silly me.

I get it, but it really isn't worth it.

Took him one year to have more yards and points than any season of the previous staff. More wins will follow.

Looking at the difference of yards per game from the previous year isn't always a straight up indicator the offense was better. What were the defenses like that were faced? What were the yards per play? How was the offense compared to other offenses in the conference? Scoring efficiency etc. Lots of factors.

Campbells first year had about 55 yards a game more on offense and higher average points per game than the previous staff had in any one season.

Your initial post said 55 yards a game than Rhoads had "in any one season". Your second post compared to the average Rhoads season. Please don't move the goal posts.

ISU was 58th in the country in total offense per game in 2015. In 2016, they were 60th.

I would say Campbell significantly improved Toledo from what is was under beckman. He definitely has changed the culture in Ames. They took their lumps last year, but they did improve as the year went on and now he is recruiting players to fit into his system that he's sticking with. Seems to be very similar to what you are blabbing on and on about.

What??? By winning three games in year one? The culture in Ames is always to believe the next coach is the next messiah so he hasn't changed anything.

Yes, in his first year we didn't see a drastic improvement in wins... I don't think anyone was expecting that. He has changed recruiting tactics, the use of social media, new uniforms and coaches. I think all of those things contribute to a new culture

This is a first. Culture is defined by using social media and new uniforms. At least it is easy to explain.

Metrics are useless at this point. What we need to see is marked improvement this season. Offense and defense stats are useless without wins. Campbell needs to win games this season. Last year, we saw a pretty substantial bump in level of play as the season went on. I look forward to seeing that trend continue this season. If it doesn't, he immediately begins to lose credibility.
