Shakur Juiston on njcaatv.com tonight

Anyone else hoping KU gets one of these top grad transfers or uncommitted prep forwards? Let them Cliff Alexander one of those guys, not a guy in Juiston that is a perfect fit for us.

Nope. There front court is already stacked with Prestion 5 star, Auoboze 5 star, Lightfoot 4 star.

I want ISU to get a commitment from Juiston as his best option and being his first choice not due being a fall back due to numbers at KU. Plus I am not rooting for KU to fortify their front court in anyway.

Fair enough.
They'll always get and have players is my thought. KU getting another big and us being Juiston's best option/first choice aren't mutually exclusive. We already are the best option, and I'm not against KU landing another guy to assist in Juiston realizing that.

Quick update on Shakur, Juiston appears to recognize the effort the staff is putting in.

**Shakur Juiston, the 6-7 wing from Hutchinson (KS) Community College, is visiting UNLV this weekend ahead of visits to Iowa State and Kansas.

Juiston on Saturday told ZAGSBLOG the visit to UNLV was going “really good.”

Next weekend he is slated to visit Iowa State, which has made him a top priority with coach Steve Prohm visiting him on several occasions at Hutch.

“They’ve done a great job recruiting him,” Hutch assistant Jay Cyriac told CyloneAlert. Coach Prohm has basically recruited him himself. Sometimes it’s the assistants, they’re on top of it. And William Small has done a great job recruiting him, he’s been in constant contact with him, with us, with everybody involved. I think Steve Prohm has taken it upon himself to recruit him and I know that stands out for Shakur that the head coach is the one recruiting him. They’ve been the most vigilant as far as every step of the way and I think Shakur realizes that. They’ve probably recruited him the hardest.”

Prohm knows what a difference maker an athletic post/wing is going to be to the team's success this and next year. Juiston is a likely starter at the 4-5 and probably the difference in 4-5 wins and fighting for the NIT and fighting for the NCAA.

Glad to see he knows that better than all of us and is 100% about making it happen.

It would just make me sick if Juiston picks KU or UNLV over us. Both of those places are just slime, and examples of everything that is wrong with college basketball. KU building a 40 million dollar palace for their players to live in and get pampered, as well as multiple investigations currently going on, etc, etc. UNLV.... well it's UNLV.... enough said. Total corruption going on there every year.

I'm not saying ISU is perfect, but nothing like these two places.

I just wonder if all this pampering of these players at places like KU and Kentucky isn't making them soft though? KU and Kentucky have not had the kind of success lately that many would think they have. Schools like Butler have done just as well lately as far as how far they've gotten in the NCAA tourney.

You mean let them get a guy whose mom took out a shady loan so he can be ineligible part way through the season?

Not surprised they still want him. The biggest question is how much Juiston still wants Kansas.

I would think that the two commitments today to KU at least added some doubt in his mind about committing to them. There could be a serious logjam in the front court for his senior year, and he'll have to fight for PT in his junior year too (but not quite as bad).
