OK, I've been reading as a guest for years. Many years. Finally joined, but still just a reader. I've been watching Cyclone basketball (and football) since early 70s. What makes me submit my 1st post? I am soooo pissed off by watching this laughable exhibition of basketball officiating I just sat through. Clones went cold, yes. But the way that game was called was absolutely ridiculous. And to think WVU fans think they are picked on by refs?!

OK, that's it. Maybe something more intelligent, more informative, more insightful some other day.

(I read your stuff. Wake up call?)

Thuggins ball is a disgrace to the game of college basketball. I never thought I'd say this but those hillbillies are quickly becoming my most hated team over Kansas.

What's that Nick? You want to put a guy on a poster with a sick dunk? Too bad! Here in Morgantown, stripes let us level guys in mid air!

I was proud of Burton for getting that last charging call. I would have dug my shoulder in a little deeper though if I was Burton's size. He obviously wanted to get his before that disgrace to officiating was over.

Kudos to Prohm for getting T'd up also, I probably would have got ejected but I thought it was a good time to stand up for your players.

THAT'S FUNNY! And we boo because we can't understand how that could possibly have been a foul

Eh, I don't have a problem with them booing. Part of the home court advantage. We do it too, not as much as Kansas, but still.

Sat down to watch with BIL here in Cancun and I said that if we cannot win I just want to get out of there without anyone getting hurt and fuckingup our NCAA games.

It's one of the great mysteries of college hoops as to how they can push, grab, slap and drape over people for 40 minutes and have so few fouls. I actaully hate them more then Kansas.

WV my early pick for Elite 8.

At least with Kansas they play a normal style of ball and have "earned" (I don't agree with it personally but let's call it what it is) the officiating advantages. West Virginia just plays ugly, borderline dirty ball and still get away with a lot. I don't get it.

Yes. I have too much of a "justice" gene to condone that style of play. Deep down it comes back to cheating until the refs call it, as opposed to actually playing within the rules. Call me old fashioned, but I'd never let my kid play for Huggins....integrity issues in my opinion masked by "aggressiveness".

That was tough. It seems to me that they went on a run with a string of bad calls. At the end of the game it was as if the refs knew that we were screwed so they started to make the obvious calls they were ignoring.

They lose early every year because they run into refs that don't put up with that sh*t. I guess when you don't have to worry about running into Huggins again, you can stand up for yourself.

I think what happens is when the refs allow the hacking early on it becomes a normal part of the game to them. As other posters have said, despise WV more than KU and I didn't think I would ever say such a thing.
