*** Official IOWA STATE VS Texas Tech Game(Day) Thread ***

Prohm is doing a very good job since coming to ISU. In fact, other than a handful of "elite" coaches, there is nobody I'd rather have right now coaching at ISU. I think he's better than Hoiberg at most things too, and I would rather have him than Hoiberg too. Is that enough for you?

Does that mean I won't criticize him when he makes boneheaded decisions? Nope. Sorry. He's a big boy, making big bucks.... I'm sure he can handle it. In fact, I'm sure he could care less what any of us losers has to say anyway.
What was this boneheaded decision? Having one of our best passers and ball handlers in Babb in the game? Would appreciate hearing your alternative approach.

Who is "us losers"? Don't speak for me, I am not a loser. And neither is Prohm or Fred. In fact the last true "loser" we had here was GMAC. And he laughed all the way to the bank. Are you a "loser" like him?

Have to come back with a shout out to Solomon. My early post stated he was looking like a raw freshmen. And quite frankly, the first half he did. BUT....he came back tough and was huge down the stretch. Keep working and learning, young man!

Are you sure we are in the tournament now?

I think that's just expected from a freshman, especially in only his 4th start. To have him keep at it and be a significant part of the win though...

I could only follow the box score, but I believe he had 3 turnovers in the 1st half, and ended up with 3 and only improved elsewhere. Really great stuff right there. I hope he punks Baylor a few times.
Young was tough as nails. Was really active on the glass, contested shots and was really physical.

Fair enough. You said it was on Prohm for having Babb in at the end of the game. Who should have he had in there in those exact circumstances with 2 starters fouled out? Do you want Bowie and his 40% free throw percentage? Holden, who's not much better and seldom catches the ball cleanly? Do you want pom pom Simeon or Greder to peel off the warmups and see if they can come up big for us?

Prohm isn't blameless for the struggles we've had but things seem to be rounding into shape pretty nicely and you're acting like we just lost to Iowa again. This is a helluva win and criticizing him for who is on the court in the 44th minute of a game with no reasonable alternative just screams out that you have a vendetta. I don't really pay attention to the patterns of individual posters and even I can see that.

If you think I blamed Prohm for having Babb in at the end of the game, then you can't read. I specifically defended Prohm for having no choice but to have him in the game since Naz and Burton were both fouled out.

That doesn't mean he should be in a situation where the ball gets in his hands when he hasn't shot a FT all night. Monte, Matt, or DJ would have all been better IMO than Babb at the line in that situation, that's all.

But believe whatever you want to believe I said.

Those blocks by Solomon on Zac Smith were huge. Not easy for a frshman to pull that off against a more experienced post player. Our team has looked dominant with Young in there the past couple of weeks.

= lamest post today. But it's early...12-0-something a.m. here in Florida. Plenty of time for someone to step up and top this post.

Wow, now I've seen it all. I guess it's time to go to bed.

Getting criticized now for having empathy towards a young man who grew up in a rough environment, lost his Mom at a young age, and is now trying to be a major level college basketball player while balancing school and all that goes with it. Unbelievable how low it has gotten on here.

I'd bet you everything I own that Prohm himself would rather take the blame than having the fans blame the players, but that's because Prohm is a class act and a class guy. Same can't be said for many on here I guess. Wow.

Okay, so if Babb does not grab that ball after Monte saved it Tech has a layup.
I am really trying to figure out how in that situation, how you avoid Babb getting fouled, please explain.

I was amazed they didn't call a foul even though I thought they were clean blocks. They called some pretty putz fouls in that game. Not sure why TT didn't just drive to the bucket at the end since any guard going in was getting a Frank Mason bail out foul.

Its not like I make stuff up. I said I wanted that 1 more win, (I wasn't the only one) and we got it. So yes, 10-8 for sure and hopefully even better!!! Yes, I questioned, where will that win come from? Well, it came at Texas Tech. Kudos to Coach Prohm and team! I have to ask tho, do you hold lifetime grudges??? Peace, fellow Cyclone fan, peace.

Yes!

I think Young has demonstrated good hands and a nose for the ball that has been pretty critical to this late season surge. This team will get better as his offensive game improves and players trust him to finish. Looking forward to that.

uh, he was fouled saving ISU from a turnover. Was he supposed to let it go out of bounds?

Why are we fighting each other? Enjoy the win!

Win or lose, CF has become an unpleasant meltdown after a game regardless. Pretty sure if we won the freaking national championship, would come here and see a questioning of timeouts, an attack on one or more players, pissing matches between the usual suspects, etc. But some people are only happy when they be ********.

You realize Babb was the inbounder on that play right?? Yeah it's Prohm's fault that he ended up getting the ball back. It's also Prohms fault that a 70+% FT shooter missed both.

Also, who else you putting out there? Bowie? Holden? Simeon?!

Get a grip dude and for once be happy after a W. Like why do you ALWAYS feel the need to draw out the criticism after every win?

Cuz he is a douche?

As I mentioned before the fact Young contested the rebound on the missed cost Tech time to move the ball forward, sometimes teams help create their own breaks. Just a different spin on things
I agree for sure. Young, once again, not only got huge rebounds, but huge blocks, and altered some big shots. His presence down low is so refreshing. He wasn't perfect and you could see he got frustrated, but he stepped up when the game was on the line. Not many freshman can be that clutch in game deciding situations.
