Iowa ending DST?

I do a decent amount of business in minny. This will create confusion on that part. I'm in favor of pitching it, but if only us, I'm going to have to be on my toes more.

Agreed on both thoughts. Total waste of time when there are actual important things to be considering (not that they will).

Idiots. That would be just awesome for all of the folks living in the Quad Cities. Not. Or for anyone calling or doing business outside their local lowa county. *

JFC at least the dumb **** didn't mention anything about disrupted chickens not being able to lay because of the dark. :rolleyes:

* And yes I get that people unlucky enough to fall right on the border of the existing time zones have to deal with that but making Iowa into a timezone island is pretty ******* stupid even based on the low scale I apply to the Iowa legislature.

For about 12 years, we had to deal with trying to remember what time it was in Phoenix (where my father lived) because Phoenix is on Mountain time and AZ doesn't do Daylight Savings time. Pain in the butt if some states do it & some states don't.

And @isufbcurt ? Move to Alaska.

Makes no difference to me, but it seems like it would create more problems than it would solve unless it was done at a federal level. Now let's talk about year round schooling.

Except the Navajo Reservation does DST...

So currently on July 1, 2017 (with DST factored in) the sunrise will be 5:44 AM and the sunset will be 8:52 PM.

If you get rid of DST the sunrise will be 4:44 AM and the sunset will be 7:52 PM.

Just my preference but give me the extra hour of daylight at night!

And on January 1 it was 7:17 AM and 4:55 PM.

Id take 8:17 AM and 5:55 PM over that as well. If were going to change, I say go to year round DST.

I know about the AZ thing because my daughter is there for college right now.
