Well looks like my stock pick, SLW, is not going to make it into the end of the year. It ran far too high and did it way too fast in ~3 quarters, still could have made 200% this year on it. SWFT and HQY looking good.

I now expect the gold and silver miners to potentially completely fall apart into the beginning of 2017 which will then be an excellent buying opportunity. This is a chart of GDX or the ETF that roughly tracks the miners. Major support at the 100 week MA. I expect that to break and if it does expect a rapid decline to the old lows in the 13-14 range. Might buy some puts today on GDX.

GDX indeed broke the support being down hard the last two days. 18.99 close today. I would expect to see a 14 handle before the end of January.

My pick VDC finished the year up 3.81% for me compared to:

DJI 13.4%
MSCI All-World 5.6%
Nasdaq Composite .IXIC +7.5
Gold 8.03%

Well I've gone and tallied the final totals. I almost missed one because of a stock split, (SH split in the wrong direction 1 for 2). If I missed any others let me know. That change also switched the average from over +11% to 9.0% and under performing the S & P 500. Oh well, there goes are soon to be Hedge Fund.

I guess we have a winner. Although picking 4 stocks might be considered cheating. Having two finish in the top 4 is pretty impressive. However, those short ideas would both have almost won the contest to the upside. Hope you weren't short but that can happen to these stocks.

I guess I'll take my holding onto 2nd place finish with SLW.
