Iowa Football Recruiting

Haha, nice, but c'mon after all the SOS and B1G West stuff, to see that Iowa's SOS is stronger and the B1G West is ranked better than the Big 12, gold Jerry. Gold.

I think everyone has agreed the Big 10 and the Big 12 were weak this year

Most Iowa fans would even admit Beathard was bad this year
Yeah, definitely will be the year of could'a beens for CJ. Just think if he could have faced a B12 defense every week. Dude averaged 235 yds (68% completion), 3 TDs, and 0 Ints with a 174 rating against B12 defenses this year. Pretty impressive numbers, especially when he only averaged 3 quarters in those games on a primarily run first offense.

Six of the nine teams Park played against had passing defenses ranked 83rd or lower (#83, #98, #101, #105, #118, #125).

Wow.

Did you see the o-line he had to play behind? I'll give them credit they improved as the year went on and exceeded expectations but still.

So? Akrum Wadley had a better YPC than Leonard Fournette. I guess that makes Wadley better.

I'd be willing to bet there are Hawk fans having this very conversation somewhere.

I'm not even sure who Wadley is but in the bit of Iowa I saw this year and both RB's were impressive and seemed to compliment what Iowa wants to do.

These debates are funny--as an ISU fan I need to see ISU at least be decent overall before it means anything, and even then it really doesn't.

Park had his moments of looking decent but pulled some standard ISUisms in screwing up when a basic football play was needed. Beatheard looked like a gamer type from what I saw. He'll be heralded in Hawkeye lore if Iowa wins another program-defining bowl game to close his career.

CJB played a tougher SOS in a division that was clearly better than the entire Big 12. But he didn't have as great of a year as we were hoping. And I am betting on Park being able to complete the 4-yard rollout to the wide open guy in the end zone next year. That was tough to watch.

If we're thinking of the same play, Park is such a good athlete that he could have easily ran it in basically untouched, which he also didn't do.

The ISUism is a really, really hard thing to shake.
