Netten currently leads the Big 12 and ranks third nationally in field goal percentage this season (94.1 pct.) by connecting on 16 of his 17 attempts. His 94.1 percent clip shatters ISU's season school record.

Netten ended his career by making his final nine field goal attempts and 24 of his last 25 dating back to last season. His only miss this season was a 50-yarder at Texas.

Netten leaves Iowa State with the following career school records: scoring (300), field goal percentage (79.4 pct.), PATs (138) and consecutive field goals made (15). He is second all-time in career field goals made with 54.

This program has had some seriously lousy luck with kickers in big situations. Cole never had a chance to make a kick that would send his team to a Big 12 championship game, but he has been remarkably consistent, and that is something that we've not had in our kicking game for a real long time. He owns the game-winner against Iowa in 2014 and will take home several school records.

Thanks, Cole!

Gonna miss him. Looks like we'll be back to crossing fingers and praying kicks go through the uprights next year.

Do we have any other kickers on the roster next year besides Francis? Is he even a place kicker? or just kickoff guy?

When you are Iowa State kickers and punters are EXTREMELY important. We've needed him and he's produced.

Netten is probably the best kicker in history at Iowa State. Congratulations Cole! May you find success and happyness in the rest of your life as well.

Thanks for posting this. You know we'll miss him next year. Stud.

It got to the point where I wasn't even nervous for XPs anymore. Don't recall the last time that was the case.

My favorite memory was when he made the kick to beat Iowa and Georges tweeted a picture that night of them two partying. I forget the caption but it was classic Georges trolling Iowa fans.

Sad he wasn't present during some other eras of ISU football. Some of the McCarney era teams have completely different seasons with a kicker of Cole's quality instead of what they had.

My question as well. I see we offered to guys that committed to ALA and NW. Anybody know if the staff is looking for a recruit or is Francis the guy?

Wasn't it Francis that kicked south into the wind, back-to-back 50 yard field goals in the spring game? I love Cole, his family goes to our church. Solid kid, so happy that he finished so strong after that couple of kicks to start last year.
