I remember hearing him interviewed on Murph n Andy a couple years ago and I came away thinking how impressed I was with him. This is a guy that will be very successful in whatever he chooses to do after his basketball career is over. I can't wait to read the 'where are they now' feature on him in a few years.
This should be required reading for every fan of every ISU sport before and after every game. Especially after a loss and before you get on CF in meltdown mode.
But in one respect I think Naz is wrong. He says he's here for us. I think we should be here for them. Don't get me wrong, I want ISU to win every game in every sport, but win or lose, I love this school and institution.
That is awesome! As excited as I was to have Monte back, I think Naz coming back may have been even more important for this team. He is definitely the emotional leader of the group.
I had an on campus job in 2012 and part of it was interacting with students, many of whom were athletes. I met Naz Long the first day he was on campus as a student. It was obvious immediately that his maturity was off the charts. He will bring on-the-court and in-the-locker-room leadership to this team that most other college athletes cannot. Huge advantage to ISU for having this guy on our squad.
